Brake Failure
In cars with over 100K miles master cylinder failure can occur under heavy braking...One of my Spec Z Buddy's just hit the wall @ 100 MPH due to Master Cyl failure. The car had over 150K miles on it...he didn't change the Master Cyk when he turned it into a race car...
Unless the Z is completely different than all other modern cars, this is not correct. The Z should have a dual master cylinder with one side controlling the front brakes and the other side controlling the back brakes. With the front line rupturing, you should still have rear brakes operational.
To be fair and on reflection I think I still had about 10-15 % braking power remaining. Losing 90% of my braking power made it seem like a total loss, and I certainly was not able to stop if I had to after the original incident.
$500 later, replaced fronts with oem, and actually feels better then before.
IF it was faulty on Nissan's part installing my aftermarket parts I don't know if there is a remedy from them. In any event pretty scary.
