Z06 brake caliper adapters??
Hey guys,
I've heard this is the forum to go to for anything related to 350z's. I have a set of C6 Z06 calipers I wanted to use with a set of 14"F/13"R rotors and someone told me there is a company that makes an adapter bracket so I don't have to fabricate one myself? Anyone seen or heard of anyone who has done this? A friend used some Genesis calipers on his 14" rotors and had a metal shop fabricate an adapter plate but I'd be much happier to find one done vs measuring and testing.

Unless the bracket is ridiculously hard to make (don't think it will be since the Z06 calipers bolt directly to the spindle without a factory bracket). It's going to be more of exact measurments of the spacing once the rotor is on the hub with the caliper placed where it should sit. They are insanely strong brakes for the money if you find a set used for about $1000-1200 for front and rear with pads.

I remember seeing a thread on here where someone used Corvette brakes, but I can't seem to find it right now. I don't know that there are any off the shelf brackets though, but brackets aren't exactly rocket science to fab either.
The DIY BBK thread in the DIY section has most of the measurements you'll need. The only ones he's missing are the hub mounting surface to disc face front and rear. I managed to get most of them figured out by using the drawings of the caliper he used for unknown distances. The rears are confirmed by actual measurement.
The rear mounting holes are 122mm apart, and the centerpoint between the holes is 101.8mm from the rear axle center. The mounting lugs on the hub are 20mm from the inner face of the rear disc.
The fronts are 100mm apart and the centerpoint between the mounting holes is 65.1mm (I need to check this) from the axis of rotation. I don't know the distance from the hub mounting surface to the disc, but it appears to be between 25 and 30mm. I'll update this when the weather clears up and I get a chance to pull a wheel off...
Are the Vette brakes lug or radial mount? The fronts are pretty trivial, but the rears are kind of a ***** because of the distance the hub mounts stick out radially. I had to clock the rear caliper slightly on mine to get it to clear the mounts, but that was with a radial caliper. Lug mount would be easier for the rear, IMO.

hey crazycowboy, thought i would find ya over here. haha.
i may be willing to split costs with ya on the brackets if you find someone to do it. the only thing i worry about is keeping the e-brake working. it is internal to the rotor. now, if a set of 350z intended rotors were used in tghe rear, then we may have something!

edit! well i just had an interesting phone call with the company that i was going to link to. they are located in oregon about 45 mins from me. they are very interested in creating a bolt on 350z/g35 kit for the c6 z06 brakes. not to get ahead of the project here but price point will be lower than a wilwood 6/4 13" set up!
i think we got alot of things hashed out on phone so i will probably be bringing my car to them in june to prototype this up. basically the only fabbed part will be caliper brackets. this will leave it open to other vette brakes and kits and i'm sure some of you are familiar with the zr-1 carbon brakes.
looks like this just solved my brake problem and hopefully soon be a great product for the z/g community.
