Default Can dealership use aftermarket parts?

Is Nissan (or dealerships in general) allowed to use aftermarket brake pads and rotors on your car? I'm asking because Nissan made it a big point to tell me that both my front and rear pads and rotors were aftermarket, and that may be the reason they are pulsating, and why the rotors are "warped". I then go and check my records and it turns out that Nissan was the one who replaced my rear pads and rotors just 1 year ago!! Any comments on this? Also, isn't their brake warranty 12 months or 12,000 miles, whatever comes first?

If another dealer installed em, show em the papers and make them cover the work.
If they still give you issues, call headquarters.

Nissan dealerships are independent businesses and their service centers can sell parts from multiple sources. But you said (in your other thread) you already put 20K on the rear brakes already? What does your service receipt say about any warranty on the parts? Why not take it back to them in the first place, rather that bitchin' and moanin' about it here, anyway?

"Bitchin' and moanin'"? Lol. Okay. First off genius, I already spoke with Nissan, and their warranties on all of their parts are 12 months/12,000 miles (like I already figured); so I can't take it back to them at this point. Second, the fact that they sold me non-oem brakes is a problem, considering I spoke with their parts department and I was told they typically use oem parts unless otherwise specified.

Most important part, what did you pay for? Did you pay the crazy OEM price and then they installed the cheapest aftermarket parts possible or ?

for one, dealership or not, how the hell do you not know whats going on your car??

what, did you drop it off, leave them the key and then come back when they called you and simply drive away...........wtf?? who does that?? oh ya, everyone that goes to stealerships....pfff..

- either way, if your outside oem warranty or not, wear and tear items like brakes - best you can do is get lifetime replacement pads (wagner thermoquiets at your local box autoparts store) or lifetime replacement rotors, etc...

find a shop, or better yet, learn how to do sheit like this yourself........in that, you would KNOW whats on your car and know it was done with what parts, with what torque, etc, etc. that or have a local shop do it, while you overlook...and learn for next time........again, brakes are wear and tear - u will have to do it again someday..

Bitching and moaning is exactly what you're doing. After trying to be helpful on this and your other thread (on basically the same issue), I call it the way I see it. Beyond that, I already advised you that pads and rotors are wear items and to try doing some of this work yourself. But you ignored all that and your arguments about unfair treatment have lost steam.

Rear rotors add rotational mass that zaps away horsepower. Route all braking power to the front and remove those heavy ~15lbs of rotational mass per side off your drivetrain! becuase racecar

The service paper is poorly documented with regard to the pricing. It looks like they charged me $300 for labor alone, and then $290 for the parts. It says the brake pads were $62, but it only says quantity of 1, which makes no sense (they only changed one of my pads, and not the other??). The rotors were $62 a piece, totaling $124. And they charged me $20 for brake fluid and $85 for a rear caliber. The rotors say "non-oem" but the pads don't say that.

You didn't look at that/question it when you were picking up your car?

They are sold in pairs, hence quantity 1.
