Default Brake Peddle Pressure

05 Brembo system.
After driving the car around today, I feel like the brake peddle pressure is stiff to depress. Quick visual inspection of the booster and I can’t see anything leaking. Recently the car went in for service and the front and back pads/rotors were replaced. Has anyone ever dealt with a brake booster issue?

This might simply be a question of what you're used to in terms of brake pedal feel. Depending on the type of pads/rotors selected AND if the shop also properly bled the four corners, the pedal can firm up considerably. Does the Z stop well? Hopefully, you've had a chance to properly bed these new binders to evaluate any problems. Nissan brake boosters don't typically go bad with proper maintenance.

BTW- most complaints are with a soft brake pedal. You may be the first Z pilot with a gripe about a firm pedal!.

I’m sure your correct about a new feel.
I’ve only driven my Z and couple I test drove 5 years ago. How are you doing? Are you back to racing again? You got the Redline going? Now that the site isn’t giving me pop ups all the time I’ve been hanging around more.

Give it a few days and see how you adapt to the feel of your new brakes. Let us know if this continues to be a problem and whether your Z doesn't stop well.

As for me, thanks for asking. I had to take 2017 off for recovery, but was back to racing by 2018. Won my first two races back- both in rainy conditions! Went on that year to qualify for the Runoffs, and went to Sonoma Raceway to compete. If you missed it, I was lucky enough to meet up with MicVelo, and he produced one of the finest pictorials of the event here:

You can see that the Redline race Z is back and doing fine. Now, let's see if and when the 2020 SCCA race season gets underway!

That tread was awesome! I’m glad your racing again. On a side note what brand wheel broke? How many different tires do you go to the track with? Where did you order the new fender from?

Thanks, and I'm glad too. As for the Enkei wheel that was shattered in that race, it was incredible that it still held a bead after being hit by that Mustang. For tires, I like to have two full sets (one on the car) of R-compound tires available. There's also a set of wet weather tires mounted and ready on the rack. As for the fender, I went to fleaBay for the one currently mounted. It was cheap, but the fitment was so poor. .Ah well, it's a racecar, not a concours entry...

Racing in general seems ultra expensive. Still I’d really enjoy a few laps.

Racing in general has always been expensive. As Mic pointed out in his thread, my effort is NOT high buck, but it's what I can afford. Once you get to the point you can drive a racecar well, there's few things you'd rather do. Thanks for the support, and I hope your brakes continue to work well!
