Default Hawk HPS Pads

I am planning just to replace my front pads with Hawk HPS' pads......I am just getting too much dust from the OEM pads up front....does anyone have this same experience??....i seem to always be cleaning my rims....How much would this cost to be installed at a shop????....i have never done brake work before and I just wanna get it professionally installed.....Does anyone know if it is worth it to change the pads and does it reduce dust a lot....thanks

Why not replace the rears also? The difference in brake dust is like night and day. Hawk HPS pads give off very little dust. Cost me $50 to have them installed.

Got mine from raceshopper.com - you can also get them from tirerack.com - cost is around $120 for front and rear pads.

EBC Greenstuff is another brand. You can get both at TireRack.

I get very little dust on the rears with the stock pads so I only put new pads on the front.

I believe they do have them to fit the Brembos. Check the TireRack site. If not Porterfield is another brand, even NISMO.

I'm also considering the Hawk HPS pads since I am really getting tired of the dust. The only questions that I had on the Hawk pads was whether they are noisy and if anyone has had any experience with the Hawk HPS pads in cold weather. I know that some "low-dust" pads get to be low dust by being REALLY hard. This can mean that they can be noisy or that they can lose stopping power when they are cold. I do not want to trade brake dust for noisy brakes that don't work well when they are cold.

Thanks.

What do you consider cold in SF . I live north of the Bay and I've had no problems with noise at all in any temperature. I have read the occasional minor complaint of some squeal in initial braking but it seems to go away. Also if you don't break the pads in properly it may cause some problems. I think you'll find 99.99% satisfaction.

zwindsor-

Thanks a lot for the answer. Guess I'll go ahead and order the Hawk pads now.

BTW...This is California. Cold is anything less than 65!

greenstuff make less dust, and are quieter. get the hawks if you autocross or track the car.

I've got greenstuff on the g35c, and hawk hps on the Z. by far there is much less dust on the G.
