Default wilwood brakes!! install help!!!

did any of you wilwood guys install the brakes yourselves? i installed mine today but had problems with the rears. i actually thought i was done and was ready to bleed when i noticed the rear rotors wouldn't sit flush against the hub. it isn't by a whole lot but enough to cause problems. i'm thinking it is the brackets but i am not sure. maybe i put them on the wrong way? they are installed as they are installed for the front brakes. i left the Z at the base auto hobby shop overnight (I work there too, so it is free). anyway, i got tired of working on it. i am going to tackle it tomorrow morning. any suggestions? did any of you run into any problems at all during the install? Any heads up info? any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

ps: before anybody mentions it, the dust plates have been cut and are not part of the problem. i will look again tomorrow morning but i am sure that they are not the cause.

I haven't installed Wilwoods but the rear rotors have a snug fit on the inside diameter, or the hole on the center.

how do you know about the rears having a snug fit? have you seen or helped a friend install them? if so, what did they do? was it an issue for them too?

below is a pic of what i suspect is the problem. the rotor is not touching in the pic because i put no pressure on the rotor. also, the dust plate appears to be touching but it's not. it's within the inside diameter of the rotors. the pic is looking down on the top of the caliper mounting bracket. is it possible that the brackets mount from inside? that would make them opposite the front brackets.

Vitamin Z,

I installed front and rears on my Z and may have had the same problem you are having. PM me tomorrow(Sunday) if you haven't had the problem fixed. I believe the problem is that you are trying to install the bracket the same way as the original calipers. The supplied brackets need to be installed on the inside of the bracket attachment with the supplied bolts. Let me know what happens.

checked on the rear brakes today. definately the brackets!!! unless i get different brackets or hats with different offsets, i don't see how these are going to fit without modification. funny thing is, all the parts have stamped part numbers. these part numbers contain the numbers/letter 350Z. rears are stock for now. fronts are working so far so good. the brakes look impressive, they look mean!!!. can't wait to get the rears on!!!!

when i took this pic i was not pressing up against the rotor or else it would be touching the caliper mounting bracket.
