Default Springs with little to no drop with better handling...

Do they exist? It seems like every set of springs out there lowers the car over .5". The only ones that don't are the H-Tech, and they are "luxury" springs. Are there any performance springs that don't drop the car much at all?

ha...i made a thread with almost the exact same title

there are a few springs that lower less than the s-techs

i remember finding that espelir active GT springs lower very little..but their spring rates were wacky....i emailed them about it but never got a response

i see eibach in your sig...are those the sways and you wanna add springs..or are they the springs and yuo think they are too low?

anyway..imo a z without a bodykit can handle a bigger drop that you think...the s-techs will be fine as far as height goes

anyway...check into those espelir...they were .3 inches all around and more aggresive rates than the h-techs but perhaps too agressive

ps. you can find the info on mackin industries website

lower is better!

part of what makes the car handle better with springs is simply a lower center of gravity.

but you may want to look into hotchkis springs, i think the drop on them is pretty conservative.

If you lived in Tuscaloosa, you'd realize why I need good springs w/ little to no drop.

Havabooz- I have the eibach sway bars, but I sold them for the Hotchkis bars... just haven't taken them out of the sig and replaced it with Hotchkis yet.

The RSR springs are what you want. Little to no progressive spring compromise and better spring rate logic. The only way you will do better is to have Ground-Control convert the Koni shocks to coilovers and you pick out what Eibach linear ERS spring rates you want to run, but how to do the rears would be very interesting to say the least. Well of course a full blown coilover setup would actually be the best, but that's sorta out of context.

Eibach's as noted (first number is the softer initial rate, followed by the higher final rate)

Eibach 350Z springs
350Z 296/384 front 316/421 rear

RSR 350Z springs (just a wee bit progressive F&R, maybe one coil is progressive)
345/417 F+10% R+22%
Transfers +12% roll stiffness to rear

Hotchkis 350Z springs (linear springs)
340/330 F+8% R-3%
Transfers +12% roll stiffness to front

Tein S-tech 350z (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
386/402 F+23% R+16%
Transfers +7% roll stiffness to front

Tein H-tech 350z (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
358/375 F+14% R+11%
Transfers +3% roll stiffness to front

Tanabe GF210 Series 350Z
336/375 F+7% R+10%
Transfers +3% roll stiffness to rear

Tanabe NF210 Series 350Z
314/353 F+0 R+3%
Transfers +3% roll stiffness to rear

Kg/mm springs 350Z
DR21 super sport 15mm drop
246/398 front 252/409 rear

Kg/mm springs 350Z
DRacing 30mm drop
252/454 front 252/482 rear

Espelir springs (the U.S. importer recently changed specs, I do not believe the newly listed specs are correct, since the new one's are extreamly high. And when I called the company to ask if the springs are linear or progressive, they told me Linear, turn's out they were absolutley wrong, they are in fact progressive. I show the old specs for those reasons, take it with a grain of salt.)

Espelir 350Z springs (progressive)
381/460 F+22% R+37%
Transfers +15% roll stiffness to rear

wren57, don't overlook Tein Basic coilovers, just a thought.

they cant be as bad as NYC streets...i have 4.5 inches of clearance

i have stock springs but my esprit kit slopes down

anyway...i think you would have more than 4.5 inches of clearance even with a 1+ inch drop

anyhow...gsedan35 seems to be the master of spring rates so i would follow his advice

but anyhow

since we're on the issue of spring rates, how do you convert lbs/in to kg/mm? ... i have a hard time relating to spring rates in lbs/in

edit. nevermind, i did a quick google and found it.

A week ago I put on some Tein S-tech springs. The front was immendiately .5" lower, but as of a couple days ago the rears were about the same. They're supposed to drop about .5". I noticed a increase in handling and the best part the"bounce" is not nearly as bad. The wife doesn't complain any more. When car settles I'll get it re-aligned; don't want featering again (twice so far).
