Default Buying A 05 350z

I'm considering buying a 05 350z, but i got some questions. I know the 2003-2004 had tire wear problems. I was wondering if this is fixed now!!! I really love the car, but would not purchase it if it still has this problem. Also i was wondering if ppl were still having problems with the tranny not shifting smothly?

Tire feathering issues are resolved.

The tranny issues were only in the early 03 models. In any case all issues are/were covered under warranty.

It's a great car!

On this tire feathering thread, https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....+feathering+05

Most people don't have enough mileage for it to show up yet, posting "6000 and no feathering" is not definitive. Even though the 2003s were covered for feathering, 2004s are still not coved for this. There is some difference in springs and shocks for 04.5 and 05 but it's still not conclusive that this is fixed.

Dude,
What evidence do you have that it has been resolved?

I have an 03 with minor tire feathering but I'll still get 27,000 miles or so out of the OEM tires. I would not let feathering stand in the way of buying an 05.

My manny tranny shifts just fine.

Says who? Your Nissan sales guy? People with 6000 miles on their car?

There is no credible proof this has been fixed and if so, what parts/setting are different/fixed/changed that have resolve it?

I've heard of people w/ 05's having feathering. It's less likely to occur with an 05 than an 03 but it's still happening.

IMO I think it has a lot to do with the crappy OEM tires.

Whats changed? The suspension. In some very fundamental ways.

I am not trying to be difficult but if Nissan (or anyone for that matter) has made changes that can fix feathering, I am sure quite a few people would be interested. Unless they have gone so far as to change suspension to body mounting points, older Zs should be upgradeable with the right parts and settings.

Are there any new part numbers?

Have you even done any research on this subject before making these claims? There have been a couple of threads regarding a change in a couple parts of the suspension, including the front spindle.
