Bamyi, Thanks again man for the info. I am going this weekend to Geiss auto mall to test drive one. I have a feeling I am going to end up with an 06 or left over 05. he final drive is gears I assume? I did a search in a popcharger, what is it just an intake? Is that the CAI?

If I did those 2 mods, I would assume I can expect more power in the low end and rip through the gears quicker, not too mention a wonderful sound im sure.

Damn man, I really want one now, but my plan was to wait until march and keep saving more and more for the downpayment. Plus the roads are still covered in salt and pot holes everywhere. Its gonna be tough waiting until march.

The popcharger is a ram air style intake. Do a search on it, you will find plenty of results. The general consensus around here is that it is a great mod for the money.

^Right. The final drive is a gear. It will allow faster accleration but you shift more and your MPG goes down but since your Z will not be a daily driver this may not be a problem. The CAI is just another term for Intake. The intake will give you a nice sound. These are great mods/$$ but don't expect to compete with a TT.

I understand the waiting till spring but also keep in mind that prices for sports car are lowest in the winter. With this said, since the Z is a hot selling item, they may reduce the price at all. What are they quoting you for the 06 and 05?

Additions to Master B's comments

CAI - cold air intake
there is also another kind of intake called ram air intake (conceptually it doesnt work but its cool for the Z somehow ... maybe the name - popcharger muhhahaha... lol)
TT - Twin Turbies (MAX POWER)... will cost you 10000 good dollars for both parts and tune...
Then if you want more power and reliability you need forged engine parts ..
another 10-15000 dollars
so to run your car as an all out power machine... you are looking at least 55000 dollars... and thats not including basic up's... like wheel/tires, suspension, brakes and exterior mods such as bodykit, wing, aero parts etc...
so...
eh~

^^He stated that he doesn't want to drop alot of money into mods so I just left the FI (forced Induction) topic out. Don't want to overwhelm him.

personally, he stated earlier that he's also looking into a lotus. I would get that bad boy!

I went my local Nissan dealer today who incidentally had the one I wanted, color, trim and everything but just sold it. They had an 05 Convertible there, I was sitting in it and generally going over the details of the car, it is such a beautiful friggen car inside and out. I dont know the price quoted on a new one as I have not gone into details, but the guy did have a convertible 04 with 4,100 miles on it auto though for $29,000.
I tell you one thing, I have been searching for the proper Lotus Esprit and even being in the club cannot find the one that is calling my name. If I do nto find one soon it wil be the 350Z all the way.
One other thing, I have been looking for white 350Z's ONLY. I am obsessed with white, and I will say the price on white Z's is quite a bit more money even with 30K miles they still ask $24,000 or up on it. Which reminds me to ask, how come the prices on Z's are all over the place even for the same type of models, I mean the price for touring between color and mileage is thousands different. I see on autotrader I some 03's Enthusiast with like 8,000 miles on it for $22K, then I will see the same year and type with 30K on it for like $24 at some instances. I dont get it.

As you already know, the prices are set by individual dealers. I bought mine for 24k, Chrome Silver and had 12k on it back in Aug 04. I don't think 2-3k difference is that big.

Whatever you do, don't get an auto!

I went back to the Nissan dealer today and one of the sales man turned out to be a customer of mine at my deli. So we were just BS'ing and going over a beautiful black 05 convertible 6 speed. Man, now I am more tripped up than ever on which to get, hard top or coupe. Whichever, no way I will get an auto, you couldnt give me that car in an auto or any sports car for that matter. Anyhow, I really like the airy feel and speedster look of the drop top, it must be so awesome in the summer, but you cant beat the lines and raw look of the coupe. The salesman told me some company makes a huge sunroof (targa piece) for the 350z and he could get it for me and installed for less than $1,300, so I thought that was a great thing I will look into. He also told me he can get me an Enthusiast model 2006 for $32,000 out the door which I thought was a good price. But, he also told me he could get me the one I want and color with less than 15K on the clock for less than $24,000. So it told him to find me a white one, enthusiast and above 6speed. If he cant find me one I will go with black.

Im rambling, sorry, just basically typing the story and thinking about it. I love the experience of getting a new car. I like how on the one they had there when you turned the power on the navigation door fold up and in.

Thanks for the pics.

piece of advice, do not get the convertible! In Coupe form it's gorgeous, in rag top... it's just look bloated and slower too.

Coupe or convertible is a personal choice. For me the convertible only looks nice when the top is down.

Also, you mentioned that you can have someone chop the roof and make a targa, I would do so with great care. The roof provides structual support for the car. You will lose handling and safety features if you don't re-inforce the car with spot-welding and other methods.
