Default Anything I should do during test drive

I'm going for the test drive tomorrow to see if I like the Roadster. So far its been pictures and small clips via the internet.

I have seen the coupe but tomorrow will be my first up close and personal with the Roadster...Is their anything I should look out for in terms of the test drive, O&A for the dealer?

Thanks

Default Just came back from the test drive.

OK, I just got back from the test drive on a coupe since they didn't have the Roadster to drive. First off, looking at the cars side by side for the first time, I like the looks of the Roadster, probably a bias opinion since I'm in the market for a convertible.

The roadster looks smaller and tighter to me, probably cause the hump is chopped off. I like my rides small and tight, since any sport rider will tell you smaller and lighter is the way to go for bikes, power to weight ratio and all .

The ride was what I expected it to be, tight and responsive. The brakes (non-brembro) were fantastic, the dealer and I were talking about how it made us lunge forward everytime I feathered the brakes up. I never felt brakes so strong, it felt like motorcycles brakes...they can loop you if applied too strong

Coming from a lightly modded mustang GT, I have to say the Z felt a bit faster, things seem to rush faster in the 350. I'm not sure if this is due to being lower to the ground, but it felt nice. I wanted something to match the power of the mustang with a drop top, so far so good.

The thing I did not enjoy was how loud the exhaust was. It was stock and all I could hear was the exhaust everytime I slammed on the gas. I have the flowmasters cat back exhaust on the stang, but the raspy sound of the Z was much louder on the run. I can imagine how loud it would be in a drop top .

All in all, I liked the car. The dealer said he could knock 400 bucks off invoice (carsdirect.com price $35,766), which I thought wasn't so bad (Touring Roadster with all the cheaper nick nacks). So I guess OTD with taxes (8.35%) and stuff would run $38,500.00, is this a good price. I think the price isn't so bad, whadda you guys think?

Thanks for reading.

You have been a forum member for more than 3 years. I think that it is time to poop or get off the pot.

Yeah, I joined up a while back, and I decided to buy a mustang instead of the Z. But now I am kinda ready to buy the Z , closest I've ever been. If the dealer dosen't low ball me then I'd most likely get her.

I've been reading here and getting anything close to invoice for the car is pretty good.

Wish me luck

Nice ride you have there. No Nav, the price I mentioned is not included. What was your OTD price, if you don't mind me asking?

Default Imma gonna gets me one too in a coupe..

Imma gonna gets me one of dose tew...

Any suggestions on which add-ons are particularly cool? ..and importantly what not to get with the Z.

Why should I get the Z? I'm used to having a back seat.. I was surprised the Z didn't have one.

So far I like the picture on the back of the brochure the dealer gave me with the NISMO add-ons with the sticker on the side.

I also saw in the parking lot an infinity that has the same lines as a Z but in a 4 seater.

gotta love that icon "peanut butter jelly time"

How much of a chick-magnet is the Z? What features should I get for it in a coupe?

Blind-spot on a convertible?

Does anyone know where I can get a hold of inside and under-body strobe lights? Guess that would be different and less prone to breakage than those neon light thingees.
