Default 2007 350z msrp error NEED HELP

well i have had my base 07 z for 2 months and at first i talked to west covina nissan and qouted me 26,995 for the z so i went to universal city nissan and they said they would honor that price but when i looked through my contract i noticed that the car was sold to me at 29,005 . doesn't seem like they discounted the car at all. thats not including the tax, ect. plus my 2,700 for extended warranty and gap and my 3,500 down after everything i ended up financing 30,700 does that seem right for the base z ? anyway i went today to talk to the manager and those people seem to not know at all whhat they are doing. i should have just got the z from west cov. and got nismo kit instead of the warranty and gap... i'm am so bumbed out, any advice

$26,995 + $2,700 = $29,695

TTL is about $2000 here in Texas. I'm not sure what the rate is for your state. If you put 3500 down you'll be short about $1500. It's hard to help you out without seeing the numbers on the paper. You're missing something here.

$29,005 + $2,700 + $2000 = $33,705
Take $3500 out you'll get $30,205

Pretty close to $30,700. I don't know if a lawyer can help you now. Most dealerships now days have cameras that tape the financing process to protect you and the dealership. Bottom line is you didn't read carefully. I go through line by line by line.....even the back of each page.

The price on the the signed contract is the price you pay. Maybe a lawyer can chime in, but that's why they say to read the contract in it's entirety befor signing.

Read the fine print and check the math before signing anything. Once you sign and drive off, the deal is done, finished, closed, kaput.

as others have said, unfortunately you signed a contract. unless your state has some kind of law that gives you a certain amount of time to back out of the deal..there's not much you can do.

the good news though is that you've posted about it. imo this is a shady business practice. even though a lot of dealers do it- its not right. your post will hopefully help others to go with west cov vs universal city.

I see no misrepresentation on the part of the seller. The MSRP is clearly stated on the sticker. You examined the contract. You signed it.

Also when ya ask about car prices, ask them about OTD price next time.

And here in Dallas I can get a new 350z Enth(w/ mats, SG's) auto for 31500 OTD.

But sadly once you sign it, its a done deal. You may be able to take it back under buyers remorse (heard about it once on this forum, don’t know the deal behind it though)

I have experience first-hand where the Stealership changed the terms of the sale on the closing documents.

You need to be real careful when you sign a contract.

Did you buy from Universal City Nissan because Big Boy sent you?? "Se habla espanol"...Those guys have no clue what they are doing. Sure they sell a whole bunch of cars but when you start hitting them with in-depth questions about ANYTHING, they freeze.

Truth in lending disclosures usually has an itemized break down of the charges. Point 1A shows what they charged you/price of car. All the other charges are either standard or what you wanted. I'm not sure what you can do being that you're an adult and signed the contract. Maybe the legal avenue is closed but an ethical one may be for you. Call and complain to everyone at the dealership about how you were mislead and say you will tell everyone possible about their special sales tactics.

did u get the 2700 additional warranty? i dont think so...

31500 + 2700 = 34200 minus 3500 = 30700. Check your math

Are you sure it's not the final price after the interest after X amount of years?

That's a good question and you might be correct. If he is getting a very low interest rate or is only financing a short term deal, the number might be valid. I highly doubt it though.

In my experience as a former salesmen, disclosure of the selling price of the vehicle is state law here in Texas. It has to be pointed out to you at the time the contract was signed. A phrase like "this is the amount we are selling the vehicle to you for. This is the amount of taxes. Here is your title and license fee." If they were not clear what the selling price of the vehicle was I would take it to the "New car manager". If they do not see eye to eye with you I would take it to the "General Manager".

If the above was explained to you in a manner in which I described I believe you are at fault. The fact that 2 months have passed is going to greatly hurt your chances of getting this rectified. In any case good luck with it.

those people seem to not know at all whhat they are doing.
Wait, you've had the car for two months and you're only now getting around to reading the contract and figuring out what you paid, and THEY'RE the ones who don't know what they're doing???

Don't think so.

Anyway, as others have said it looks like the math adds up. You're fine. They didn't cheat you. Enjoy the car and get on with life.
