Default 2003 G35 vs 350Z?

Im having trouble deciding between a blk/blk 350Z 6MT with 40K miles for $19.5k private party, or a G35 Silver/Blk auto with 80K miles for 18.9K from a dealer.

What are your guys' opinions? And what am I likely to have missed besides the obvious?

I have a 4Runner so I can live without having the back seat although it would be nice as I play guitar and the back seats folding down is great. Theres not much room for guitar cases in the Z. But I really love the look, drivetrain and interior of the Z.

I keep going back and forth on it and Im antsy about the G35 cause I havent seen many for under 20K. However I havent looked as hard as I could, how common are G35s in this price range?

I'd love to hear from people that have owned both. Thanks dudes.

With respect, I haven't the faintest which suits your needs. The 350Z or G35?

Well for one whats the performance difference? I hear that since the G35 has a wider wheel base it feels a little more solid on the road. Im sure this is also because of the added weight.

And how about mods? I dont necessarily plan on doing alot of them and I know that most mods will work for either car but are there any deal breakers? What if further down the road I want to make it a track car or turbo it? I can only assume the 350Z would be better suited.

I can research the differences that are printed on paper and compare stats all day long, but Im having a hard time choosing one over the other from a style point of view. And getting feedback from you guys is a great help. I suppose I could search the forums for all this info but I'd like to have a discussion, its more rewarding.

As for needs both cars fit. Im just trying to decide which to buy and although I know its my decision (I'm not looking for someone to make the final decision for me) Im just curious why all of you have chosen one over the other and why.

I think you need to buy a " Ford Five Hundred " !!!!!

It sounds to me like you you need to test drive each car you are interested in & then make a decision.

The 350Z runs SCCA B Stock. The G35 runs D Stock.

And how about mods?

Same motor. Same mods. Same price.

Get the Z, You have a second vehicle to put your guitar in. I have a second vehicle also that I lug my drums around in so I feel ya. You should be able to fit a guitar in your z, at least in a soft case.
You will be dissapointed with the G35 and it has too many miles on it anyway.

The number of miles on the G35 is ridiculous. The price has to come down to match the mileage, unless if the dealer is willing to offer something like a generous warranty.

Having only owned 2 350z's and no G's. But having ridden in a few G's in my day, I would suggest with those detail's going with the Z.

80k miles is up there, sure the card will probbaly be fine... but that is 80k miles that you really dont know much about and I would suggest going for the Z at that point. It has half the mileage and I find my Z more enjoyable then the G's. But that is just my POV.

I drove both and let me be honest, next to the 4Runner both feel incredibly fast! The Z is way more fun to drive since its got a MT. G35s 2 door MT are hard to find out here and the one I test drove was an AT. So its tough. Im worried that if I spring for the Z I'm gonna be bummed not being able to take anybody with me on quick trips to the bay. Thats obviously a personal decision to make.

davidv thanks for the link, hooking me up as usual Not many G35s putting up the numbers, but like I said either car is gonna feel fast for me.

I have a feeling its gotta be the Z...

Thanks for all the replies guys. Ill let you know what I get! I may have to save up a little more cash though unfortunately since I'm having trouble getting ******** financed!!!
