I've been in the car business, but I'll admit to ignorance on this one: what the heck is "captive cash?" The only thing I can think of is something like an owner loyalty bonus....
"Only good for 72 hours" is most likely only an attempt to pressure you into buying the car NOW. It is possible but unlikely that there is a short-term bit of factory help or a regional "spin" or something on this car, and that money really would go away after this weekend. But I seriously doubt it.
Is it the car you want? Would you be happy with it? It sounds like a good deal to me unless the "captive cash" is hocus-pocus. The three asterisks make me a little nervous. Whatever "captive cash" is, make sure you qualify for it. Probably very few people will. They may just be quoting it in the deal so they can make the price look as low as possible, and then when you get there they'll say, "Oh, you don't qualify for that.
Meanwhile, you do have a couple of days. Go to Nissan's website, locate cars that are comparably equipped, and phone up the dealers that have them. If there's one you like better, make an offer (and be prepared to buy it. Don't make an offer if you're not ready to buy the car on the spot.)
Also possible someone else will buy the car you're looking at, so don't waste too much time. Good luck, and ... pictures!

That's actually a really good deal that I would not be inclined to match/beat. And I'm the internet/fleet manager at the biggest store in the Seattle Metro market. The purpose of offering a deal like that is to make the decision a no-brainer for everyone involved.
Captive cash is simply an additional rebate you get for using NMAC financing or leasing. As long as you qualify for NMAC financing, which is no problem if you pay your bills, you're all set.
Enjoy!

My target price is $27,147. “Captive cash” sounds bogus to me. What if you want to pay cash? Are you penalised?
Ignore the 72 hour ploy. Any price good for 72 hours should be good for a month.

I'm planning to pay by cash, probably wont be paying monthly... But, would the quoted price change if I use cash or paying monthly? Also, the captive cash rebate doesn't apply for cash?

Yeah someone pointed out to me about that car on ebay, but unfortunately, that's not the color im looking for.
I called the dealers and they said the prices the 08's are around a few hundred dollars ($1-200) more than the 07. I guess im gonna wait for the 08 then, since OTD for 07 is $26k, the cheapest i could find that suits my color.

Very likely you can finance to take advantage of the "captive cash," then pay the loan off early. There *might* be something in the fine print to keep you from paying it off TOO early -- maybe you'd have to keep the loan for a year, for example -- but $1500 worth of help is def worth financing for.
Buy the car.
Buy the car.

The trick here for you situation would be to carry a minimal balance for three months, take the $1500 off, then pay it off.
Or wait for an 08, which is probably the wise thing to do.
