It's your friends money. All you can do is tell him he is an idiot. The whole snow things isn't THAT big of a deal but he WILL need snow tires, those aren't even a question if he wants his car to even be able to get out of the driveway in the snow. I came from an 03 GT Tib to a Z like your friend. Tell him to get a used 05, no oil comsumption and no tire feathering.

 

Unless you are being paid a finders fee let your friend buy his own car.

 

I'm helping him look. Eventually going to teach him to drive stick, if he can find a beater car.


I told him that before about getting an 05 or an 06 like 2 weeks ago. I actually suggested him to get a g35 coupe. I must say he's interested.

Well, He is dead set on this Z. Everyone tells him straight forward he's an idiot lol. I told him to get a used sti. He told me they are the highest insured cars (which I already knew plus some change). I was like do you realize your 20 years old and if you honestly believe a Z or g35 coupe will be cheaper like I really can't up with a response. Along with him getting a trade in of 11000 for his tiburon which has a borla exhaust, cold air intake, new soundsystem, and flipup screen head unit when he bought it stock 2 years ago for 13000. I said not very many people will want that unless they're kids. Haha

 

if he's not listening to anyone...then forget about it. let him do what he wants. if it's a mistake, he'll learn soon enough.

While your friend should be able to do what he wants, I hope he doesn't honestly expect the Z to be the fastest machine ever created. They're quick, and they have decent torque, but they are in no way going to be blowing the doors of every car on the street. We just don't want to see your friend creating a thread 1 month after he gets this car about how he's managed to wrap it around a tree trying to street race.

 

Let me put it this way, he probably would because he abuses his tib. I've driven a 350z (quick and very nice!) up to very high end sports cars (in the 100,000-300,000 range). The z is definitely enough for him to do something stupid considering he dosen't know how to drive (if you know what I mean), I can picture him trying to show off on the highway or twisty road then wrecking it, but we are going to drop this thread here.
