definitely get an HR if you decide on a Z, the DE still has more power than the f20c in the s2k, but it's close in a straight line. The HR will walk on either an AP1 or AP2 with no problem.

Glad you test drove a Z and came to the good side 
I was in your same position when I was looking for my next car, except I had something else (which I will not say because it is too embarrassing) and was looking at either an S2k or a 350z. Test drive makes all the difference 
And if you're only looking at 06 - 07, get an 07. HR motor for the win.
