2007 350Z Enthusiast: Take or pass?
I'm thinking about purchasing a 2007 350Z Enthusiast in the next couple of days, however, I need some advice.
The dealer is asking $23K for it, but I was thinking of offering $20K for the car as is, which I think he will accept.
The car is in excellent mecanical shape (had an independent mechanic look at it), and also has low miles. However, the exterior is very rough (small scratches over the entire body, stone chips ALL over the hood, a large scratch above the right rear turn signal and beat-up sideskirts).
What do you think? Take or Pass?

That's what I was thinking too, but the mechanic said that it was in great shape and it does have service records showing regular maintence.
The car was a lease, so I expected some abuse, but the exterior on this one has quite a bit.
The car qualifies as a certified pre-owned for whatever that's worth. It would be under warranty for another 2 years if I were to take it.
I'm probably going to end up passing...

If this helps, I got my 07 Enthusiast 3 months ago for $17.4k. Had some paint chips on the hood but overall the body was in great shape. It did have 36k miles compared to the low 17k miles but I think you could do better than 20k. I would keep looking if I were you.

Are there any real advantages to buying a certified pre-owned 350Z from a dealer, as opposed to buying from a private party?
What about an extended warranty on a Z, is it worth it?

Private party you won't be hassled as much.
But for 23k thats wayyyy too much even with that amount of miles.
With all that paint damage inside I'd offer 20k walk out on top of them replacing those pieces. Be firm and don't be afraid to walk away, remember don't take mental ownership yet. You can't let the dealer win. NEVER!

If it helps, I recently picked up a 2007 Enthusiast for 17.5k with 31k miles (garage kept, all service records, clean car record). Furthermore, the wheels on that Z are not the one's that come with the car.
