Advice on purchasing a second hand 2005 model
Hello everyone!
I need your advice please before making an offer for an 350z 2005 that is currently on auction.
I wonder if there is anything that I need to be aware of. I really love the 350z styling and I've always wanted to drive a sports car. All I know is that the engine and chassis is in good condition
I intend on restoring the car to the original state; remove all childish stickers, replace the brakes and wheels, polish the whole body, remove car dents... etc.
The current bid is at around $7,650 and I'm not planing on paying more than $10k after selling my Nissan Versa Sedan
Thanks in advance!

First of all..I voted nay.
A major factor here is where you live.I would not think there as many Z's for sale there as say in California! If this car was in the U.S. I would'nt touch it.Even if you end up paying 10k fo it,the cost of your "total restoration"...getting the parts over there, labor etc could be double that. Why do it?May be cheaper to buy a Z elsewhere and have it shipped to you.
For 37k miles, this Z looks like its been run hard and put up wet!

I vote no. I'd start looking around for a good condition 03-04 for around your price range. If possible, save a little more money and jump up to the 12-14k range - I think you can find a better candidate for that price.
Granted this does have low mileage however you're going to put a few bucks in it to get it back to stock. Nice that it has 06+ wheels (in seemingly good condition). However, it's going to run you a bit of money to repaint the front bumper, hood, pillars, and spoiler. Also, is that an 06+ bumper?! Or just an add on in the grille to make it look like an 06+? I'm a bit confused... if it's a new bumper that could mean front end collision at one point. Brakes (and probably rotors) will run you a few hundred more.
I'm not sure why you said you'd replace the wheels - hell I'd definitely stick with those, unless you're planning on going aftermarket - then totally understandable.
Personally, I'd find a good condition stock 03/04 and invest your time and money into a good foundation. Just me though.
Edit: +1 for the 06+ tails.
Edit #2: After looking over the pics again, I vote hands-down no way. This car has been used hard. It's obvious in many ways. I wouldn't touch it, even with the (few) positives it has. Save your money and get in a Z that's been cared for - you'll have less headaches in the long run.

i would buy it and restore it. i kno abu dhabi traffic cz ive been there, the auto might be useful. i have an auto in beirut and im glad its an auto. it takes 60 minutes to cross a 5-6 mile road. restoring fees in abu dhabi is not as steep as it is in the states. so if the engine and tranny r good, and theres no frame damage i say go for it. what r the customs fees for importing this car to AD?

do you know how much roughly it would cost to restore in AD?
It sucks that the interior paint chips so easily on the one you're looking at. My '03 still looks perfect on the inside. I wonder what's up with some of the mid model years that have talc powered interior paint.
That gold is just awful. Personally, I would wait for something else. A few extra months for the right one is no time at all... especially looking back after having owned it for a few years.

it needs love
new paint
what's with the radio?
low miles
probably fairly rare there also?
you gotta make the decision for yourself
hard to judge by a picture,
cant see body damage well
with all the reflections
how often do these show up for sale there?
paint it and flip it
certainly paint doesn't weather well there anyway
and lots of places there repainting well
