Purchasing my first Z
So I'm looking every where to find a 350z Preferably 03-04. Can hardly find them in MN. I have found one on Craigslist, but its craigslist. What do you guys think about the carhttp://rmn.craigslist.org/cto/2824884863.html and should I buy from a somebody or should I buy from a dealer?
Thanks

Rule of thumb, you are always gonna pay more from a dealer(most times...).
Of course prices will vary by area.If Z's are in short supply in MN,you are probably
gonna pay more for a Z than in my area(Atlanta)where the same car you are looking at would go for maybe 11k.
Maybe you should broaden your search into neighboring WI?
In addition,I'm not a fan of buying stuff(especially a car)on Craigs. However, there are some good deals to be had. This price looks too high.
Also, the color...this is a color that most people either love or hate.Nissan used it to
kick off the intro of the new Z in 1972.I sure would'nt settle unless this IS the Z you want.
Find it hard to believe there is not a greater choice in your area?

I'm not a big fan of buying stuff off of Craigslist either, especially when it comes to cars. However the price does not seem too far off from what its supposed to be. The KBB est. price for the 03 Enthusiast with 89k miles on it that I bought, is around $15,000. When I decided to buy it at the dealership, They wanted $14,500, but I bargained as much as I could because it was way too high for me, and brought the price down from the original price they wanted, to $13,000. So I would say the Performance one in the Craigslist ad you showed doesnt seem bad at all with only 56,xxx miles, but of course you should always get the car inspected before making any decisions. There is always a possibility of something wrong with the car that isn't obvious, that could cause bigger problems in the future.

Thanks guys! yeah with all my research it seems like a good price! and a good car. I just have to drive 4.5 hours to get there to look at it then make up my mind. I really want to find one at a dealership. Just because I have a good idea that nothing major is wrong with it. but very few of them have it. Miller Nissan for instance, Went in there and asked them if they had any or if they could call me if they got any 350z s and They said "whats a 350z?" so I'm scouring the internet trying to find any that are close. Wish I could post a WTB ad on the forum but it wont let me. Thanks again for your input!

Welcome. You are correct. Minnesota is not a popular 350z state because the Z, and other sports cars, is a 3-season vehicle. Study the various 350Z models. Prices for same year different models can vary considerably.
BTW if you wait until spring demand and prices will increase.
