Default 03 350z for 10k --good buy?

I'm looking to pick up a Z for spring time. I have two options. One, I can get a 03 (bone stock) w/ 40k miles for 10k w/ cash, or I can wait for an HR to show up and finance. Its going to be a summer fun car as I have a Prius (go ahead and Laugh) to drive back and forth to work.

I don't like the idea of having a 10 year old car, but I do like that I don't have any payments.

If you can afford the HR then don't settle and go for the newer/better car.

I found a PPW 07 w/ 49k miles $17k, the bumper grille is painted white. Do you guys think that's a big enough red flag? Carfax shows up clean, but I don't trust it.

Notice the black mirrors too.

Oh man, red spray painted stock calipers, rice exhaust, chitty head unit, terrible looking woofer box, white grill, and a base model to boot? I'd probably stay away from that thing because if it's riced out now, who knows what was done to it before.

Agreed, too many cheap parts on it. Thanks for the confirmation.

03 with 40k miles for 10k is a really good deal if it's a clear title / nothing is wrong with it. It's worth around 12k when I looked it up. I'd say if you can pay cash for that I'd rather do that than have a car payment. Get the 03 and put on 07-08 headlights and tail lights.

40k miles for an 03 is extremely low mileage.

i have 45K on my 2004.5 Z but it never gets driven in winter, thus why those miles could be so low as well.

I would say a 2004.5 is better but i'm bias.

10k is too much. Here in Houston they're going for as low as 6.5K.

I'm checking out an HR roadster this friday. The 03 is very tempting in many ways, but seeing that everyone is steering me away from it, I'm going to abide

08
49k mileage
19k

I'm hoping to talk them down a couple grand, if they don't take it, then I'll walk away. I really would prefer a coupe.

Don't buy the convertible man if you have your heart set on a coupe. You will end up regretting it which will cost you more in the long run.

Go ahead and wait on an HR. You will NOT be satisfied with the DE performance or its minimal gains from bolt ons. Former DE owner and now HR, the HR is more refined in every way. Looks, performance, etc. Do yourself a favor, wait and keep looking. All this is IMO ofcourse.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to take the advice and wait for the car I want. HR's are really scarce right now in New England -- I can hardly find any.

He either doesn't have the money for a 370z or doesn't want to spend the money. Why would he move on, he's trying to go for a cheaper route obviously.

I'm looking at 370's too. I figure I'd still have as much fun in an HR as I would in a 370, and save some cash while I'm at it.

Or he gets how fugly the 370 is. admit it...it's one of the fuglier Z models. A redesign is in order.
