Default Considering 04 350z

Hi everyone I am new to the forum because I have been considering a 350z. I currently have a 2010 civic si and I have someone who wants to trade his 04 350z with 102k miles on it for my car, he has all service records from nissan and it is a manual that is all i know so far. Would this be a good idea or should i try to find a different one? thank you for the help in advance

No. The z has too many miles. Your car must only have around 60k or so.

Even if he was to add cash it's still not a good deal. The civic si is nice and all. Would be easy to sell.

My 2004 350z only has 50k on it. But I store mine in winter.

compare nada/kbb values and if they're similar and it seems like a fair trade then its up to you. why would we choose what car you drive lol?

Your civic is worth more.. my dad has a fugi blue si and it only has like 40k on it. But they hold value. To be honest I like the sound of vtec.

If you get a z I personally wouldn't buy one with more than 80k, or modded. Something also is the window motors fail a lot, there could be grinding in the synchros. So if it's what you want test drive the **** out of it...

I love my z but kind of regret it because of winter here, it sits in my garage

Strictly in terms of mileage 102k is acceptable for a car of that year, that’s less than 11500 miles a year (11,333.33 repeated to be exact) take those miles and divide by 12 then by 4.33 and you have around 218 miles a week so this car you are looking at what was his daily driver, I agree with what was previously said, personally I feel 102k is too much for a Z. I have 90k on mine and just love driving it but I don’t trust some else’s 100k on a Z. Some people have great luck with the Z and others do not, I have had zero big ticket maintenance repairs on mine, but you'd be hard pressed to find many such examples.

Read through this thread, there are some rants and good honesty, some of the complaints are pretty ridiculous, like the Z lost its value. The reality is the majority of machines lose their value, therefore you should not look at it as an investment as much as it is personal and entertaining transportation. Surprisingly my Z still gets stared at for far too long. It’s murdered out, new front end lowered stance and black rims. If you want a Z look for a newer example with less miles. There are plenty out there, don’t fall in love because this one is convenience to acquire

Exactly and the market is flooded with 350z's. A lot of guys get wife's or kids then have to sell. So a z might have multiple owners which is fine. But if it's been modded and abused then you have to worry.

As said 100k is not much for a vq engine but things get old and break. The time to buy a z is in winter. So your gettling close to the cutoff point.
