You can not paint over a slick painted surface, they will scuff the surface, sand it, and prime it before repainting any area, paint has to have a slightly rough surface to bond to, paint will not bond to a smooth waxed surface.

You will be fine, just give it to the body shop people and let them do their thing.........

I don't know any other way to tell you this, if they are a body shop they of course will know to sand and prime any surface they are going to spray.

If the paint sticks, then they did the proper prep, if it peels and flakes off then they did not.................

Why are you asking this, do you have doubts about the work this body shop performs???

they have warranty right? like what Kevin said if they dont sand it then it'll peel off after a few weeks or months. if they know what they're doing then they need to sand the clear coat then prime it.
