Default I need to Vent - Stupid UPS guy

I left home for 1 hour today, to find that the UPS guy decided to try to deliver my Zaino in the time I was gone. I was going to Zaino the new Z this weekend... now it looks like I have to wait until monday. I guess I'm gonna have to give it a ghetto wash now.

This sucks.

Yes, this is a pointless thread... and there's no real reason for anyone to reply unless you really want to. I just had to vent. GAH!!!! Why can't UPS just leave their crap with a neighbor or something?!?!

I order alot of products online and it is usually delivered via UPS. Out of the hundreds of times they've been to my house, I can count almost a dozen incidents where they decided instead of walking up to my door and dropping off the package, they will go ahead and literally throw the damn box from the sidewalk. I managed to throw in a few words at times, but the drivers dont give a rats ***.

Well, I was very sad and I kept thinking to myself "I MUST ZAINO THIS WEEKEND" so I tried to call UPS, and I managed to get them to hold the package at their depot.

She told me it was like 12 miles away... I mapquest'ed the address and I would've had to drive through a really high traffic LA area to get there. I asked if she could hold it at a closer depot, and she said she'll see what she can do. 5 minutes later she calls me, now it's going to be held about 3 miles away instead of 12 miles away, from 6-7pm!

Thanks UPS!! Even though you guys still suck, at least I can get my Zaino today!

You can call UPS and have them take the package off of the truck at the end of the driver's route. You can then pick it up at the local UPS depot.

All you have to do is sign this paper that they have and it says that they can leave things at your door so you wont have to worry about things like this happening. Ask him when he brings it to you on Monday.

UPS doesn't even ring the doorbell here anymore....they just drop it on the doorstep and go.

This is very true... A UPS driver will only driver release a package if he knows someone else wont find it. since if it turns up missing they are punished. If you have lots of shrubs, or other places to hide the package they will, otherwise if its a clear view dont expect anything waiting. Plus if the package has a require siginature tag they cant leave it unless either you sign a paper as stated above instructing them to leave it, give it to a neighbor / apt manager, or yourself.

You can call UPS and have them take the package off of the truck at the end of the driver's route. You can then pick it up at the local UPS depot.
This is possible but tricky...
If the driver comes in too late from his runs then you are SOL. If they dont get the message untill after the truck has been unloaded onto the belt system then your SOL. And if your UPS hub is BIG your SOL cause its too many to look through, but if you got a smaller hub then you have better chances.

Also most people dont realize this but certain service levels need to be delivered before certain times.

Early AM packages have to be deleiverd by 8:30AM
Next day air by ~10:30
2nd day air AM by ~10:30
2nd day air by ~12:00

the rest are all day.

I went to the UPS depot earlier and picked up the Zaino -- BUT not without incident.

I told the lady working there (this was after-hours by the way, so it was supposed to be a "special" pickup that I pre-arranged on the phone) that I was supposed to get my package at their location. She went to go check the packages, of which there maybe about 100, but didn't find it.

So.............she started making lots of phone calls to locate the package. About 30 minutes and 10 phone calls later, she told me that the driver didn't drop it off at the depot where I was. She told me that the driver was either (A) En route to a very far away depot, or (B) En route to the correct depot where I was. So, another 15 minutes and another 3-4 phone calls later, some other woman magically discovered my package and said, "It was here all along." Just think, all that time wasted only to figure out that my package was sitting on top of some shelf. I even asked the woman if there was ANY CHANCE that my package was here, and she said no.

UPS people are retarded... I swear.

Give UPS two ball bearings, they will lose one and dent the other.

Around here they are better than FedEx tho.

This is why whenever I'm expecting a package, I leave a note on the door asking UPS, FEDEX, etc. to leave the package on the back porch.
