Default Bugs Bugs Bugs

So i was preparing my car for wax, but I am having trouble getting the Bug residue off of my car!. I can get most of the mass off, but there is small white hazes everywhere!. I tried using turtlewax bug remover, it helped, but i cant get everything off. Now i have alot of rub marks on my paint for how hard ive been trying to get it off!. Help!

Chances are it's because the paint/clearcoat has been etched by the acids in the bug-guts. If you don't wash bugs off shortly after you get them, then you will wind up with permanent etching.

If you've introduced scratching or hazing to the paint, you're going to have to use something like 3M Swirl Mark Remover to polish it out. If the etching is bad enough, you might need to compound it first then the SMR.

try washing real well, then claybarring, that should do the trick. Or try bug/tar remover. Then re-wash!

use degreaser. the bug guts are wet and any exhaust residue from traffic infront of you will adhere to it and make a glaze that hardens. the degreaser will breakdown the exhaust residue and the bugs will come off very easily.

my dad drives long haul and has a black truck. I know all sorts of tricks.

Degreaser is too harsh for a fine finish. Simple soap and water shortly after the bugs have landed is the safest and most effective way to remove them. If you have let the bugs sit for a while the finish is toast anyways.

THanks for the help guys. I washed it again and used the clay bar. I think i used too much of the spray at times but the bugs really erased right off. Thanks again

Simple Green removes bugs, and residue when used full stregnth. I am in the bug capital of the world. FLORIDA. You would not believe the bugs I get on th front of my car. I spray some SG on the front bumper, and wash the car as usual. They come right off.

Respect (for Simple Green)

Simple Green is a little strong for paint IMO.
