This is a way of seeing if you have wax or not. I'm not saying if the surface is rough(then you need a clay bar job). If it squeeks, then you are out of wax.
To remove all wax, you can use a harsh soap such as Dawn dishwashing soap. Carnuba wax usually runs out pretty quick though. Couple of washes and being out in the sun.
