Default Cleaning adhesive off Track Rims

Don't know where I picked this up, but I have some adhesive junk (like what's left after you peel off a sticker?) on one of my Rays Track Rims.

Soap and water doesn't make a dent.

Any suggestions?

Believe the rims have a clearcoat finish, so I'm kinda scared to use anything that would eat through that or leave a permanent blemish.

TIA!

Definitely the Goo-Gone will do the trick.

3M Adhesive Remover is strong enough to do the job, but easy enough not to remove any type of finish.

Thx guys, I'll stop by the local auto supply store and see if they've got any Goo Gone.

Appreciate the advice!

You can get Goo Gone at any grocery store, Wal-mart, hardware, etc. It's not an auto-specific product.

Even better.

Funny, I never noticed the product before you guys mentioned it. Now I'll probably see it everywhere.

More than likely that will be advesive left over from a wheel weight, or maybe a weight fell off. Are you wheels in balance or have just had a balance done??

The rims were indeed just balanced and mounted.

But the adhesive is on the outer face of 1 of the spokes -- not where a wheel weight would have been. So I'm still not sure where it came from.

That chit is tough to remove. I had to remove it from all 4 wheels when I purchased new tires and they moved the weights..

When I had my last lot of 4 replaced, had balanced, and ended up with some of the weights being moved slightly.

I used a moist, soft towel and gently agitating to removed some of the gunk and the remainder with cleaner wax and then recoated with wax when completed. Don't have goo-gone in NZ . But sounds like that would do the trick.

Can be, but easy does it.

+1 on Goo Gone. I heart Goo Gone. If you don't have any, you should just buy some to have around when u need it.
