I bought the Z in June. Previous owner was a smoker...
and my seats are leather and I've tried steamcleaning the headliner, shampooing the carpets, Meguiar's Gold Class Deep Leather cleaner/conditioner. I've sprayed air freshener down the air vents. All of this has helped a bunch, but still not back up to par. The car is 06 and I want that new car smell. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.
You're probably going to have to find a professional detailer who has experience in this area.
Other than that, you will have to leave it open for a while to air out. Unless you have a garage, that won't be practical.

I use to work for a used car lot driving cars around town, Anyway i would take smoker cars to the detailer all the time for this. They would keep the car over night and use an special cleaner (if i remember correctly), i can't remember how much it was but it worked. Now we only did this for highter end cars, and i am sure it was a little $$ but it did work. +1000 on a pro doing this for ya. O and make sure to change all filters.

I smoked in my car for 3 years . I stopped smoking just about 1 year ago . I Fra-breezed it 20 times . Smells good for a little while . But it still smells of smoke when I get it it . Sucks !!
Zilver06, I'm with the others. Pretty much anything you spray irrespective how good it is, the smoker smell will only be masked, it will not totally disappear. Pity you have the leather seats or I would have an answer for you, but I don't know if the product is available in the US though.
Driving with the window down and the aircond on low will help the air to circulate and help ease the horrible smokey smell a tiny bit until you get it sorted.
Definitely take it to professional groomer. You don't want to run the risk of ruining the leather.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the input. I bought a small portable steam cleaner the other day and plan to stick it in the vents and blast them. I want to take out the headliner and blast in for like an hour and let it dry out for like a week in this Texas heat. I'm sure that's a task to take it out. Hmmm.
My buddy bought a used car with leather and the previous owner was a very heavy smoker. He said when he test drove it that it reeked but the dealer claimed he could get all the smell out.
Anyway when he came to buy it the dealer said something about he ran a deionizer? or something on it overnight or some long period of time. I think it may be something they hook through the air conditioning system that keep recycling the air. I really have no idea what it is but that's what the dealer had told him.
I've been in the car numerous times and it has not even the slightest scent of any kind of smoke whatsoever. If any professional has something like that then it works like a charm.
After seeing how well that thing worked I would actually prefer buying a smoker's car now at a cheaper price and then getting it fixed...

Yes, the Ozone Gen. I called a local A/C shop and they told me the exact same thing. That's it!! I'm taking her in and gettin' it done. Will report results ASAP. Thanks guys!!
I own an interior repair company and we have the ozone machine, we do cars and boats for dealerships all the time. we use the ozone and then spray whatever smell you want in the car. Usually since we come to you we charge $125 for the service but since your one of my fellow Z owners ill hook u up. Let me know
