Well last friday I made the plunge and ordered everything to start a low volume detailing business. I have been detailing friends and family members cars for the past couple years, just never offered my services to the public. I am really excited because today I came home to two big boxes on my front stoop.
So much microfiber I do not know what to do with myself
.
I have my first car on Monday and four or five more that are committing to dates by the end of the week.
I will post some pictures of my garage and detailing setup once I get everything organized this weekend. I will also try to post some before and after pictures of the cars I do.

Good luck, make sure you do some price comparisons with other shops to avoid under pricing larger vehicles. Its better to take your time and get the work right for repeat business and referrals than anything else.

Thanks for the product links Greg I will definitely check your website out.
I agree with you 100% BlueBoxer. Right now I am just trying to build the business by providing quality service to get referrals. It's always quality over quantity.
So I cleaned all the junk out of my tool box and washed my product cabinet. LOL the cabinet is a hand-me-down from my step mom and is ready to be recycled. As soon as I pay myself back for the initial investment I am going to get a nice one from sears.
I have to take everything out of my toolbox and wash the liners, wipe down the tools, and make room for my random orbitals and detailing tools. I'll try and take some pictures of the mess tomorrow.

Yesterday I detailed an E500 for my friends Aunt. First off the car had not been washed in a couple years. Also upon cleaning the vehicle it was obvious that it had been hit from the front and rear. The paint in the repaired areas was not done properly but at least it was color matched. Anyway I just wanted to post a before and after of one of the wheels. It took 30 minutes to get it to this condition LOL.

In total it took ten hours of work.

Thanks man. What gets me through it is the customer satisfaction. I love taking before and after pictures too. I try to stay away from trucks as much as possible though.
