Default 350z -V- 2001 S4

Question, I’m going down to the local drag strip here in Colorado to race a friend. He has a stock 01 Audi S4 and I will be running the 350Z witch is stock all for a catback exhaust and K&N intake. Bottom line I have to beat him. I am wondering what my car will do against a stock S4? Not sure if this means anything but will a turbo perform better than a N/A in high altitude.

Well, I do know one of my good friends who owned one, he lost to a evo8 by a half car length in the 1/4....Both cars were stock....Your race should be close if it a high speed race....

A friend of mine has an S4... stock vs. stock = driver's race ... but all i have to say is make sure he's not chipped. If he's chipped, he'll burn you pretty good. check out what a chip can do for a biturbo s4 on goapr.com (he'll be even faster if he has a giac chip)...

+1 chipping an Audi or Volkswagon can produce quite an improvement. More so than any other car.

Your in CO so i'm assuming your at a higher elevation. At 5,000 ft plus you are looking at a big power loss compared to a F/I setup.

Bi-turbo S4s are quick.

I would say at sea-level, stock for stock, the Z as the advantage, but... at 5000ft elevation you might be in trouble...

And as they mentioned, chipped you are in trouble unless you buy some more mods.

At that sea level he will lose about 2lbs of boost. I don't know the exact calculation but I remember the Colorado guys from clubgp all had to drop 1 supercharger pulley to get the same time everyone else was getting. It should be a close race. Slash his tires to be sure.

I have a friend i ran him stock for stack and pulled like 5 cars easy
I then raced him with borla TD, test pipes, and plenum. he had intake, ecahsut and chip (boosting 15psi and tapering to 8 at redline <stock is 7 peak amd taper to 4 >). in that race we stayed neck and neck till around 130 when i started pulling him. the S4 now has a newer chip boosting 18psi and tapers to 15. and i just raced him and he pulls easy 3 cars on me by 145 and keeps goin.

B5 S4's are slow as **** stock but with little money you can have a mid 12 second car.
4wd owns you.

o yea and all the time we race its from a roll I raced him once from a dig and he easy pulls 2 1/2 cars and keeps pullin whil im spining
