A 2.1~ more often than not has some good spin, getting it down to a 1.9 more often than not removes a good deal of spinning. Generally if you spin off the line you end up seeing slightly inflated trap MPH.

on a hard launch on slicks my 1/8th mile mph always drops but the 1/4 is higher
i run 12 psi on slicks and 14 on nittos

Have you tried this??? It doesn't sound like something any reasonably intelligent person would do from a pure safety standpoint.
no, it wasn't done on purpose. On our track we have a pipe burried that is for run off. Where they covered it it left a white line. Kind of like a side line on the street. I used to move over to follow it before i realized i was sort of weaving. The time keeper pointed it out to me when he saw my traps rise that i must be weaving. If you deviate at all from a straight path, it will cause a small rise.
