Talking My First Track Runs 1/4

My scanner was acting weird so ill type my very first run:

R/t:.597
60: 2.198
330: 5.987
1/8: 9.069
mph:79.88
1000: 11.694
1/4: 13.904 @ 101.87

Not bad considering its my first time ever running...and you will see the true first time mistakes later lol...

My 2nd run which was the best...wheel hopped so bad i thought i was going to leave my rear end at the start lol but heres the slip...im in the right lane on all of these...AND in the left lane was a real nice 06 Mustang GT hehe Ill let the slip do the talking on this one haha

My 3rd run I raced a Turbo Mustang(or atleast I thought it was turbo, maybe SC) anyways I missed third gear and just coasted on through, but damn it looked like if i woulda nailed 3rd gear i would have maybe hit 13.5ish and just maybe 104-105ish, just maybe lol

And last but not least...My friend Greg with his 06 Base 350Z (stock) in the left lane and again me in right lane yet again...The had a pro run right before us and we both were used to the (not-pro tree) Well as you can see from both our reaction times lol...i was so caught off i only made it to 2000rpms and it bogged so bad, but still managed an ok time...

Well there you have it. Here are my mods: JWT Pop Charger, AAM Spacer, Helix Test Pipes, RS*R Exmag GT2...Im still on stock 18s with the stock Potenza!!! So I figure with better ad wider tires I could atleast maybe knock down a 13.3 on the very best of runs and loads of practice!
Any advice???

Russ

103.5 mph is pretty good, 13.3 maybe with some slicks, possibly with some wider drag radials

not bad for the first time though, nice driving for what you have done

Thanks! We have a local 1/8th mile track here and I could really get some practice launching there...I lowered my air pressure quite a bit to get all i could get...The wheel hop is just weird though...any ideas on how to make that stop without going out and buying an LSD or is that the only fix?

just make sure you let off the throttle when it starts wheel hopping, people are seriously breaking stuff by letting it hop.

i have an 03 touring and it only wheel hopped once in a puddle when i floored it, it never ever does it

Mine used to do it a lot but then it quit for a while...the track is the first time it has done it since...Maybe I had let too much air out...i really need to practice launching tho without just dumping it.

Decent times, but you can def improve given your mods. Work on a 2.0 60ft, you should be 13.4-13.5...

WOW! Someone posted time slips!

Your first time at the track 103.5 mph is excellent. Keep up the good work.

Good job and nice times! Cut that 60ft to the 2.0 range and you should be knocking on mid 13s.

its me, i think the guy must have entered it wrong or something. When i got the slip I asked and he said thats the only one he had in the 70's so it was me..plus that run i missed third gear and just coasted the rest of the way, so i know that 17 was me lol

good stuff on stock tires. it must be difficult getting off the line, but your times are a good start. Im extra pleased becasue i have very similar mods and now cant wait to go to the track.

I just got back from Englishtown. I got there very late, and only got to take one run. I didn't have any of my equipment with me (not even my helmet, I had to borrow one) so I didn't even get to air the tires down.

Anyway It was my first time launching a RWD car at the strip, and it went just about as poorly as I could have hoped. I ended up with a 2.3 60', and you can just imagine how bad my time was.

I was dissapointed that I only got one run, because I got a good feel for what it was going to do on the first run, and I really would have liked to try to make some adjustments to my technique.

The car felt great once it got out of the hole, and at least I still smoked the SRT-4 in the other lane haha! Oh well, back to the track soon for more practice...
