OK... If you want Alberto to STFU you need to put up some real dyno numbers or go out and run 10s, it really is as easy as that.

 

MRC motorsports why don't you just take alberto up on his dyno offer? If your car does what you'll say it does then you'd have the pleasure of shoving it in his face. Personally I would love to have any of your guys hp and or equip in my car. Alberto? why dont you offer to pay for his gas, etc. if he comes up and runs his numbers? and MRC if you dont run the numbers you pay the tab problem solve....

I think this thread turned into a pissing contest from the moment "I own a 10 second Z!!!!!" became its title. It went from where is the 10 second slip to dyno this that and the other.

Here's the thing. MRC, you're a sponsor. Unlike forum members that are voicing their opinions, you are held to a higher standard because forum members rely upon what you're saying in purchasing products, especially your products. Therefore, you have an obligation to be as specific and correct as possible.

If you say you own a 10 second Z, you better damn well have a slip that says so because members expect you to post it. If you say you have 600 rwhp dyno, then post it.

All the rest is just crap and arguing with forum members about it is not the way to go about handling the situation. Shariff's name has come up several times in this thread. Why? Because he's well regarded and his opinions are given great weight. He is considered an expert because he backs up his statements. I don't believe he would post "I own a 10 second Z unless he actually had a slip.

Frankly, I think you made a mistake posting this thread in the first place. You got into trouble because you made a claim that is unsubstantiated and you continue to get into further trouble with yet more claims that remain unsubstantiated. If I were you, I'd ask a moderator to close this thread, get your proof and start a new one when you're really ready to say whatever it is you have to say.

Why would I pay for his gas when he is already planning on coming down to MD? My offer was for me to pay for a dyno regardless AND take him out for drinks after, this did after all start friendly and was not meant to be a flame war back and forth. Like I stated if he did 650whp or more on a dynojet then Id say his correction is close enough. He doesnt feel the need to prove anything now though. I shouldnt have kept at it so long I had a feeling he wouldnt back up his own offer.

Question for the forced induction guys tho, how many people have seen numbers beyond 600whp with less than a bar of boost? From what i have seen most turbo Z's pushing between 10-14 PSi will generally make between the 4xxwhp-5xxwhp numbers.

MRC, as a vendor, i think you need to be a little more professional and not resort to personal attacks. This war of words between you and Alberto could have easily died down a few times but it just seemed like you didnt want to let it go and kept on keeping on. Im not bashing you, just think you could have handled things a little more professional thats all. It just seemed like you let things get under your skin, im not sure why, you have a badass car with nothing to prove, just let things go more easily next time.

Alberto, i've read posts from you in the past where i thought you may have come off a little on the "know-it-all" side of things but i think thats just you being brutally honest and straightforward which i respect. Your knowledge about the Z is far greater than mine... im just saying, i can see where you can rub someone the wrong way at times and i think thats what happened here.

Well you guys are the experts but Im only comenting on what Ive seen in my experiences at numerous tracks....You have to set up a rwd to be able to do that....I dont believe this guy has a drag setup so he aint gonna be hitting 10 with that trap speed....

This thread is crazy..... I'm making realisticly 620-650whp ad I'm running 23lbs of boost with crazy cams and headwork and a full valvetrain.....So your numbers do seem kinda high for 12psi....but you did trap 127mph witch is low 600whp trap speed that is crazy so if you are running low 600whp at 12psi hats off to you that is sick....but high 600whp I don't think so and you can run a 10 if you get a 1.5 60ft or better..

 

#1 my intention in the thread was to gain opinions and strategy in what I was doing wrong as a driver. I clearly admitted my driving skills were horrible, and simply stated that my car had the HP to run 10's. this is a fact.

#2 I was accused of using RICER math, whatever that is, in comparing my time slips to Jason with the exact same car.. This is where it all started...I simply said my car by all theories i tested should go 10 second runs. At some point it became a **** measuring contest instigated by 2 premier members, not me.

#3 Someone attacks me, I going to attack back.I am simply defending my credibility as a performance shop against a premier memeber with no credibility IMO. Certain members feel the need to constantly contest others and cause these silly debates/arguments.

#4 One member even got very disrespectful against me, and there was a complete lack of moderation on this...

#5 I used sharif's name as well as others who have posted big numbers and have been regarded as the "heavy hitters"...Why do you only choose to bring up his name? I am in no way bashing but if your first comment is true :
Then some of the other sponsors would also be obligated to correct their numbers or be as true and accurate as possible. Why am I the only one being bashed??There are a plethola of others out there with big claims, and little evidence..

Bottom line here is Alberto has an underlying agenda in causing this ruckus and attacking me..I however will do my best to provide whatever materials the forum members as a whole would like to see..I think a time slip and a dyno jet dyno would be fair..It is possible the dyno dynamics corrections are off and the numbers are less, and if that is the case I have nothing to hide..My car is fast and I know it, and I built my car for myself, not anyone else.

I feel as a moderator you have no right to make comments on an open debate which you are not part of. simply do your job, moderate the inapropriate material and language and warn those involved and be done..But as a moderator you should not be taking sides or passing judgment..IMO.
