Default I DO NOT own a 10 second Z!!!!Bri-Guy says so....

But Im a 13 second driver...
Went to the track last night again to try and hit some 10 second time slips, to no avail..Not even close..
I usually run the MT DR's but last night opted to try my buddies BFG DR's that are almost 2" wider.I figured more tire more traction.Certainly not the case with me driving..I simply can not get out of the hole, dont get me wrong, once the car is out of the hole, it is nasty..But that 60ft is killing me.
I cut a 2.10 60 FT against a 1.75 60 foot 11 second domestic, and reeled him in by mid track.
But like I said, I can not drive.my best of the night was a 11.8 @ 127mph trap with a 2.07 60 ft. and my worst was 13.1@120 with a missed 2nd gear and a 2.3 60 ft..
The conclusion: I own a 10 second car, with a 13 second driver..I am Teh Suckest Driver in the Alpha male..
One of 2 things needs to happen, We need full slicks or an automatic..
Or a new driver......

anyone who want to check my numbers my car weighed 3750 with me in it and went 127mph trap, that is good for a 10.7-10.5 run..

I guess for a 10 second run you'll have to let Jaysen drive the car...lol

127mph through the traps won't get you anywhere near 10.5-10.7 in a 350z with the 6-speed. You'd need a REALLY big 1/8 mile (105mph+trap) and a 1.5 or lower 60' to run a mid 10 with 127mph. Even if you figure a VERY GENEROUS 2 tenths E.T. improvment with every tenth of 60' you'd need a 1.67 60' just to run an 11.0 and around a 1.47 to run a 10.6. That's generous..it's more like 1.25-1.5 tenths per tenth on your 60'.

Just for comparison GNXS's 03 cobra with a whipple blower on it has run a best of 11.0@130mph with a 1.7 60'

127mph is sick..but it's not a mid tens MPH without a trans braked turbo400 on slicks and a SICK 60'.

Sign me up I agree with Brian, seems like low 11's is about the best you'll get out of it in its current set-up and thats pushing it. BTW-your only .1 in front of me with 11mph more trap

Nobody said it wasnt possible but judging by how hes doing now and giving him the benefit of the doubt on the time he would drop with a .1 reduction in 60ft, its a stretch.

We ran 11.54 with a 1.66 60ft at 119 on our stock motor Z...What makes you think we would not hit 10's with a good 60 ft with 8mph more top end???

Here's my conclusion. But im not the best driver as my numbers will tell.
My best 1/4 was
60ft 1.86
1/8 90mph
1/8 7.9
1/4 12.19
1/4 116mph

Tire press 15psi
265/40/18 BFG Drag T/A

Car weight 3360
w/me 3540

My question is one, what is your tire pres. Two, how does your Z weigh that much? I have an '03 Touring and its 3360 on a commercial scale. It is in 5lb increments.

I think you have a very fast car, not sure what you should be running tho, good luck

My car weighs 3720 with me in it...I weigh about 270 or so...That was with a full tank of gas, roll cage, and stereo equipment..Plust the weight of the turbo kit and what not, my car is about 3400-3500 right now..
My run down was as follows.
60 ft: 2.1
1/8 et 99mph
1/4 mile 11.86
1/4 mile trap 127

Running BFG 315/40/17
20 psi of cold air pressure..
basically loosing it in the first 60 ft..

Yeah my car has more in it but I just can't seem to run consistently.

I think your Tire Pressure might be too high if its hot out. Try dropping it to 18 then see how it grabs there and launch that thing at 4-5k. It'll go 1.x

How much power is it making now?

Im gonna go back to the Mickey Thomsons, they hook good at 18 psi..Were running well over 600hp.

I'd say everything he just listed in his post is probably what makes him think you won't hit the 10.5-10.7 you mentioned...

You need to read a little more carefully...I never said that you wouldn't hit 10s, but 10.99 and 10.5-10.7 is VERY different. You said that your 127mph trap is good for 10.5-10.7....and I disagree based on all the information that I supplied. You'd need a REALLY strong 1/8 mile (I'm talking strong like a 600 sportbike) to run a mid 10 with 127mph of trap.
