If you are on street tires
1. Lower your tire presure to 26 psi
2. IF you drive through the water box, just do a quick spin of the tires to remove the water
3. Launch around 2500rpm-3000rpm feathering out the clutch.
4. Work on your shifting
Hope this helps some

Is there a certin time I should be trying to reach.I have checked and I found so many different times that peoole have hit so I'm not sure of which one to shot for . So far I have seen 13.5 the lowest and the highest I've seen is 14.5. I know u guys would say look it up but I'm on my blackberry now so I can't
Trending Topics
Don't feel bad, my first run i came out of the box sideways and ran a 15.2
I made a few more runs.. (like 17) and then todd took some pressure out of my tires- Still feel like there was something i could have done way better every time i ran, even at my best time. I wish I could help you with advice, but I can't- at least I can make you feel better

-Launch at ~2500RPM, and ease out the clutch
-Don't hit the rev-limiter
-Don't lift off the throttle
-Keep a log of your runs: What you did (launch RPM, feathering, tire pressure, etc), how it worked (60', trap speed, ET), and asterisk the things that seem to have worked versus things that appear to not have worked.

1. This is ideal, but not for the beginning drag racer. He should be worrying about launching and shifting properly before thinking about going for the 0 R/T.
2. Try launching at different RPM. People launch at different RPM. Find the right one for you (practice).
3. This is a given. Hitting the limiter will only cause you to lose power (cuts fuel when rev limiter is hit).
4. For a driver such as the OP, I don't think this should even enter his mind. Look at his time slip. How fast do you think he shifted?
5. This is a good way to keep track of what you did and to learn from your mistakes and success.
No offense, but some of you guys need to know what you guys are "advising" him to do. Just because you read it on the forum or just because you can do it, it doesn't mean it'll apply to everybody.
OZZ33, you have significant amount of room for improvement. As others above stated already, practice practice practice. Keep practicing on your shifting and your launch. Be sure to let off if you're experience wheel hop or lots of spin. Experiment with different techniques and find out what works best for you. Every driver and car combination is different.

All of you guys r the best I'm reading and trying to soak all this stuff in . I'm really thankfull for all the help and now I know I have to work on my shifting , I bought my car used like many off us I guess and I belive I was shifting with the shift lite now I know u can change it maybe the owner before me changed it or maybe not what is a good rpm to shift my cuz told me to redline 2nd and 3rd he doesn't know crap and I see that now so what should be my points
When i powershift i shift at 6500 cause i dont want the rev limiter to be hit... when i regular shift (never DO anymore) i shifted at 6800, im in an 06 G btw. I have an in car vid ill post up if i can find it...

A very telling part of your time is the fact you only picked up 15mph in the last half... Seems ~5mph off. Did you let off the throttle when you passed the board by chance?
Otherwise, just keep practicing, learn what you are doing wrong, and overcome them.
