Well first time at the track with this setup at least. For details on my build see here. The car has absolutely no weight modifications and still has AC and navigation on it. its also a 6mt

Anyways, I finally made it to the track yesterday with some ET Street Bias Plys on my G35. I managed a 11.71 @ 125mph with a shitty 1.8 60 foot. I cant seem to keep the car from bogging on the launch even with a 6k rpm clutch drop.
The good news is that ths stock axles held up pretty well with 550whp
Edit: Here is the video

You can't do a 6k clutch drop and expect anything but bogging....Probably not a good idea to do that again... I don't have a MT so hopefully some of the better launchers will chime in and give you some tips.Seems to me like you just need to learn how to feather the clutch and control the gas pedal when launching that hard

i agree, its definitely a driver issue. I need more seat time in the car but the clutch is very touchy and hard to feather.
Congrats Jason, nothing wrong with back to back 11 second passes your first time out! I know how difficult it is on these clutches, but you have to feather it out a bit. You could also setup your two-step to build some boost at the line, but it will take a bit of time to find the line between tire-spin and bog. What size ET Streets?

i believe they were 26x10.5 17"s, i was at the rev limiter at the top of 4th just as I was crossing the traps. I wonder if a taller tire would get me any better times?
Still waiting for my friend to upload the vids

Good luck, and be safe! (remember that, at most tracks, once you go under 11.5 or over 135mph, they require a jacket and roll bar)

For now. I've seen them break with 400rwhp and sticky tires. Oh the joys of big power! A taller tire would hurt your time (longer gearing) UNLESS it allows you to not hit the rev-limited in 4th as you cross the traps (i.e. you are able to keep accelerating). As you get better 60's, however, your trap will go down with your ET, so maybe leave your tire set-up and keep practicing your launch. As said previously, you need to feather a bit more to avoid bogging.

Luckily Muncie is pretty lax when it comes to tech even though its an NHRA track, Ive even had a few friends get by on 10's without a cage at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Nice video, I bet that was a fun race. I love when a fast car gets out on you and you are able to hunt them down.
I recognize the track... I think they lined my Lexus up against a snowmobile there.
