Default Finally back to the track after a year

Well i finally went to the track after adding a vortech to the car. I only did 3 runs. My first run was terrible. I red lighted, wheel hopped and missed 3rd. That run i did a 14.2 @107. My second run was a 13.0, and my final run was a 12.91 @109. I didnt want to beat my car to much so i was happy with that. I have a lot left in it. My launch could be a lot better but i was on some ok street tires. I was the only 350z there.

.4184 reaction
2.184 60ft
8.536 1/8
87.07 1/8
12.91 1/4
109.01 1/4

yeah i dont know whats goin on with that, i do have a small belt problem where i dont always see full boost up top. It got pretty hot down in the lanes so i only ran it 3 times. Next time it will be a little bit cooler and i'll run more. I only came there to hit 12's. I did it my 3rd run so i parked it and watched the others. Overall had a great time.

I just remembered, I didn't shift to 5th, I rode 4th across
the line. I was a good bit from the line. Anyone know where 4th tops out? That's prolly where my trap speed went.

4th gear is good to about 116mph on stock tires/revs, so I doubt that is the issue. You are down on power a bit it seems.

Well i dont know whats up with that then. It seemed to be running really good that night. Felt like it was pulling really hard all the way to the line. I let it sit 30-40 mins before runs. My buddies mustang was trapping 105-107 running a 13.6-13.4. Maybe it was due to wheel spin or something. Im going back in a couple weeks when it cools down. Also i have a different set up than in my sig now. im now running a 2.87 wheel and 418/352. This on the same dyno and close to same temps. Also there was an sti and evo x that couldnt break out of the 14's lol.

Went to the track again.

2.05 60ft
8.26 1/8
87.72 1/8
12.67 1/4
109.09 1/4

I think i might be loosing a little boost up top. The most i saw was 9 when i could look. Belts pretty tight. Highway pulls i hit 11psi usually. Doesnt sound right, i made 418/352 on uprevs dyno last month. Shouldnt i be trapping higher?

Aslo this run was right before my belt shredded. Had to make a run and buy another belt and change it there. Even with a new belt, the best i saw was a 12.7@108

I just went out and did 4 back to back pulls to redline in 4th. It tops out at 109. It reads 109 on the guage and on the digital. I never really shifted into 5th at the track cause i thought i wasnt using up all of 4th in the 1/4. Im running 18" rims with 245 45 tires. Guess this was my problem all along. Im such an idiot.

Gonna go back one last time in a couple weeks before i move and see what i can eventually get. My redline/fuel cut off is 6600.

What tires do you run in the rear?

4th gera STOCK rear tire diameter (245/45/18 on my track model) and 6600rpm's = 112mph

When you can rev to 7000, its 116mph

Ive trapped 116mph in 4th gear on a 26" tire.

edit-245/45/18 IIRC is 26.2", so you should have more trap in 4th

Yeah i thought 4th went higher, but back to back pulls to rev limit only got me to 109 on my gauges and 109 was the highest i trapped when i rode acrossed the line in 4th. I smacked 5th a couple times in the 1/4 but as soon as i did, i hit the brakes cause i figured i crossed the line already. The track i went to is some shitty back woods track in Temple "Academy" Texas. Its pretty dark down at the end of the track and its not exactly marked off well. One day i will take a trip to a better track and see how i do.

Good times for street tires but the trap is low. I trapped 113 with about 375whp on street tires. Vortech as well, what is your elevation?

like i said, i never shifted from 4th cause i didnt think i was using all of it up. my car tops out at 109 in 4th. i just moved and the closest tracks are 1/8 mile.
