I know folks have gone from 3rd gear into 2nd missing 4th but never heard about missing 3rd though. And most blew their motor.

My buddy (almost ex-buddy) did that to my G when it had less than 500 miles on it. Left two skid marks down the freeway and a cloud of smoke. Somehow, no harm was done.

Looks like you never learned. Go back to the Cobalt.

how do you miss third? you let the shifter naturally center itself and you push up. you don't need to push it to the right as well. I realize you are drag racing and trying to maximize **** but just let the shifter guide itself.

I was going from 2nd FORWARD into 3rd and having moved too far over, I went up to 5th instead..they're BOTH moving FORWARD in the same direction..right? Seems pretty easy to do..yeah sloppy and a brain fart, but certainly possible.

Yep same mistake...I just have to learn to let it go in without forcing it.

just pull down or push up toward the next gear. You don't need to guide it. Unless you driving a 3 speed on the column.
