Default engine oil for high operating temp

im wonfering waht kinda engine oil is good for both drifting n street use. i was told that 5w30 is thinner than 10w30. so 10w30 is good at high temp.. is this.correct? also do u guys drifters use synthetic or jus normal engine oil? i think changeing synhetic oil every after drifting will cost me too much. although syntheic is good at high operating temp.. wat brand do u use? plz help me out :[

Synthetic stands up better to high temps than conventional and I believe the general rule of thumb is, thicker oils (within reason) provide better protection under extreme conditions.

I use the fat from bacon. Seems to work pretty well and smells amazing!

Nah, but I use 10w40 S.

Protection = film strength.

my question is not what is the best engine oil. I was debating whether i should use 5w or 10w cause some ppl say that 5w gives u better MPG but i want good protection at the same time.
I wrote this thread on my phone so i couldn't say anything in detaill...
I wanna hear from guys who actually drift cause i'm sure they are doing it right. i'm not sure if i use conventional oils or keep using synthetic oils. i've been using mobile 1 synthetic oil for mine, and my family cars. Too much money. Some say that use synthetic oil once and don't have to use it again.

I've always used 10w30, has held up fine so far. Daily and drift use. It's really not that big of a deal as long as you stay within the factories recommendations and use quality oil.

I use 10w-30 Synthetic in my car but have an oil cooler and it's total capacity is 7qts on the HR engine. Oil temps are a serious concern for VQ's when drifting.
