Default Nissan OEM parts - Canadian online stores

One of my favorite Nissan OEM online parts stores is Courtesy Parts in Texas. www.courtesyparts.com

Do we have any similar online parts stores for Nissan here in Canada?
I found www.nissanparts.ca which is in Quebec. But it's not nearly as comprehensive as Courtesy Parts.

I usually use it for price comparison whenever I buy some stuff.. american prices are pretty much always lower than Canadian, so it's not something I can always use when I see for sale items here in Canada. I don't want to go to the dealer whenever I need a price check, LOL

For example Nismo floormats for the Z are about 60 bucks in the US and shipping is fairly cheap. But for us here, it will be at least 100+ bucks if I buy it from the US. So sometimes is just worth to go down to the dealer and buy it right away w/o waiting for about the same price.

However, sometimes prices in Canada are so damn high, that buying something in the US and paying customs and shipping is well worth it.

NO. I have never came across a canadian website selling nissan parts that comes close to US pricing.

Just buy everying online and have it shipped to a US address in Niagara Falls.
$5-10 per parcel depending on size.

Then drive down to the US and bring everything back yourself.
Make sure you have receipt for everything you purchased.

How much you want to declare to Canada customs is up to you, just pay 13% in taxes.

That's what I did for almost all my Z's parts.

Also check out G Spec Performance as Greg can get you virtually anything you need. He's a Nissan guru.
Locally try Owen and Chris at Kitchener Nissan or Rick at Brantford Nissan. Both outstanding parts shops. Rick has a beautiful 240Z track car!

I had the idea of creating one a few years back but realistically there was no point. US prices are so much lower even if I were to offer up 20-25% off on parts to you guys.

Only thing is you can deal locally and conveniently.. but yea... dealing locally vs saving $100 I rather save the $100.

^ and that is a shame. Not only for the consumer, but more so for the local businesses trying to survive. IMHO there is no reason for auto parts or vehicles in general to be that much more expensive (if at all) in this country than the US. The idea of supporting local economy will only go so far.

I never understood why the prices where so much lower in the US for certain things.
Granted, I would order online from the US and have something for a great price. However, 80% of the time the customs and brokerage fees (especially from UPS and Fedex) would make any savings almost disappear. On top of that, I have to wait for it to be shipped across the border.

Case in point, I wanted to buy some original Z floor mats to replace mine. I found them for about $60USD, shipping was about $30 since it's to Canada (2 week delivery time roughly). Add customs/brokerage fees, probably another ~30 bucks and I'm looking at $120 for $60 floor mats.
How much are these here? Certainly not $200+..

Certain things like that, I wouldn't mind buying it locally. Not to mention, shipping within Canada is cheaper and faster than shipping across the border.

Agreed, there is definately some creativity involved when ordering from the US. First of, always ship via USPS. Always. They have good rates, and they dont stick it to you with brokerage and that nonsense. If they dont ship USPS, I look elsewhere.

Also, Im sure you notice that US businesses are fully aware of the potential in the Canadian market, and are getting more creative at exploiting it.

For example, I needed a drivers window motor. NAPA quoted me $270 plus tax. That's roughly $305. It is a special order part, so there will still be a wait time involved. I just bought the same part from Summit Racing. Heres the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/A1-Cardone-R...21b15a&vxp=mtr
If you add the item to your cart, it does all the work for you. It tells you exactly how much the item is shipped to your door. No extra fees. Thats it thats all. Said and done, the motor was under $200 CAN shipped to my door.

My hunch is there is going to be alot more american online businesses following this format, and why wouldnt they?

There is also the option of shipping the item to a US PO box or similar. There are places in border towns, such as CBI that you can ship to. They only charge between $6-$10 per pkg depending on the size of the package. They hold it for as long as you want, and you drive down and pick it up. Alot of places offer free shipping within the continental US, and if you want to make a weekend of it, your are entitled to the $800 exemption.

But like you saif for small items such as the Nismo mats, insist they ship via USPS and you will still be saving if you can handle the wait.

Bottom line, is there is something strange that is going on with certain things, automotive being one, for them to have such a discrepancy between Can and US prices. It needs to be sorted out to be fair to the retailers, and consumers or it will be the retailers that go bust. Consumers will always remain resilient, and continue to find creative ways to save.
