Default puff of smoke

ok havent started the car in a few days but yesterday I needed to back it up a few feet so I started it and just let it roll back then shut it back down. same to move it back forward. Now today I start it back up and it fires weard and a puff of smoke came out from the tail pipes. running fine and everything I just thought that was weard

hah, thought it was just me. Mine did that about 3 weeks ago. I thought it was steam until the cloud lingered in the garage for a while. Only time I'm aware of it's ever done that in 1.5 years. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Car has some pecurliarities that are very rare. My turn signal will quit making noise about once every 5 months. Will do it from between 10 minutes and 3 days, then just as mysteriously, it comes back.

Anybody out there with a better idea?

extra fuel from the short cold run time, caused the rough start and should have been a black smoke of un combusted fuel. ie normal

Yeah, when my M3 was in the shop for like 3 months getting the lambos thrown on it, I went to drive it afterwards and that brown/gray smoke was coming out of teh tailpipe.

i'm still finding some of the peculiarities of the vehicle -- no smoke yet, but i've got black residue on my tailpipes

my only peculiarity is when i push the "all-the-way up" button on the driver window, once in a while it will go all the way up, then back off 1/4 of the way

driver-side windows are nasty in the Z! I already had to get my driver side window motor replaced under warranty.

yeah, i was pretty PO'd the other day, did it like 5 times in a row, my little quick fix was to hold down the all the way up button as it closed up on the top and that seemed to do it.
