Final report on my testing of the Direct Power System

If their only response is to serve papers to distributors and not respond to the apparent findings that the box doesn't do anything appears to me to admit that it is infact a sham. Did I miss something?

OK, ok ok. First here's my circuit analysis of the DPS box. It's pretty technical, so watch out.

I decided to check this thread out and found I didn't need to read more after looking at that schematic.
Igor.......can you explain to me how a box that provides as you call "an extra ground" makes the engine run better and have more power???????....am I to belive that Nissan didnt install a suficiant ground strap ???.....Im sorry for my ignorance as I only been involved in motorsports for 20 years and never heared such a thing regarding a brand new vehcle....................Joe
I'd like to pass on what's going on with this issue on other boards:

Interestingly, Redlineautosalon.com saw the post and has pulled the DPS and is offering refunds to anyone who bought one!
Nicely done, jesseenglish! I'm sure you'll have people approaching you to check out all sorts of dubious products.

Howdy guys.
Just in case you guys need any screen shots of the various DPS pages, American or Japanese, screen shots of the "who is" listing on the DPS sites or thier distributors, I have them all.
It says in plain english on them that gary was taking credit for creating the DPS.
Then again in thier legal page it also says that everything on the site is opinion.
If anyone is willing ot host them, I'll be more than happy to get them out there.

Let’s start with a little diagram
(I corrected the diagram so I can explain what the DPS is to everyone.)
Let’s start with the wire coming off the positive terminal marked 12v well that wire is connected to a 20 amp fuse after the fuse the wire is branched off into three loops. Seems like the end right? Those three loops are positively charged. Your thinking so what that got to do with any thing.
Well let’s jump over to the other side. now we have the negatively charged wire which is connected to what then negative terminal and the engine which is grounded to the body which leads back to the battery ect ect... this wire travels inside the dps box and is connected to foil that foil completely covers the insulated wire loops. The insulation on the wire which separates the negative and positive metals from touching is called the dielectric.
You’re probably like what the hell is that? Here’s the dictionary term I.
di•e•lec•tric ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-lktrk)
n.
A nonconductor of electricity, especially a substance with electrical conductivity of less than a millionth (10-6) of a siemens.
So class now what does all this yummy info mean? Two terminal plate’s one negative one positive separated by a dielectric: air, paper, plastic, rubber produces what? Here it is folks what the everyone has been waiting for its its its a
Capacitor that right folks it’s just a simple home made capacitor. And you say now no way it could be... Um yea I think it is, why do you think people say hey by lights seem brighter, fuel economy improves ect ect. Testing the dps with a volt meter you wont see any difference because its there to sablize the battery. If the battery is at 13.4 then the capacitor is at 13.4. An oscilloscope, which is useless for the dps testing still a (good tool though), is used measures voltage, timing and frequency. If you had used a Capacitor capacitance meter then you might have realized it’s a capacitor. What was funny was jesse said that the car already had a 3 farad capicator on it, making the DPS useless. lol the only add benefit to adding the dps is that it’s a water proof capacitor. Im not for or against the dps I’m just here to state the facts.
Heres a few links to help people understand what a capacitor is/does.

Its a damn good thing this is a japanese thing because in America this would be over before it started. K&G and the other comapny would have been suide into yester year unless all purchases were fully refunded and the product was removed. A customer taking apart a item purchased is not breach of anything. that is their personal property. if they want to bake it at 350 for 60 minutes they can. Get the point?!?!?
You all are being run out after making a 230% profit of the trust of your consumers. You all should be Be Drawn and quartered.
Not Igor just the big guys that got this started in the first place!!!

Paris,
I though of this and almost made a post like yours. This IS a capacitor. However, it is a crappy low capacitance capacitor.
Technically it provides a little capacitance (and a little inductance from the looped wires) but it does not supply enough of either to change how a car runs or how bright the lights are. No way no how.
The capacitance of a car battery is SO much larger than the capacitance of this device that it might as well not be there.
Adding this and saying it increased capacitance is like removing one license plate screw and claiming you lightened the car. While technically true it is functionally irrelevant. (I know you are not defending them, I am just making a point)
My guess is that the design is this way so that if they did get sued they could bamboozle a judge/jury by measuring the capacitance and proving that it does "something". If the box was truly empty it would be much easier to claim & prove fraud. (plausible deniability)
Just my $0.02

I'm still waiting for some sort of defense of the design and unit by one of the principals. I sense that there's more to this than we're hearing or understanding. There's some interesting questions:
Why bother with an international patent - they cost 10's of thousands of dollars to file, defend and maintain. And you have to convince the respective patent offices that the claims are not already in the public knowledge. If they are real scammers they could simply claim patent pending.
Why put a fuse inside the sealed box - it's extra cost? How would one ever know the fuse was blown and if you did know how easy would it be to replace? Do the instructions address this?
Why would a large Japanese institution risk negative PR on a bogus scam that likely nets marginal profits for them compared to their entire business?
I'm not defending the unit, but I do find some of this very curious.

For the fuse, I'd imagine it's a safety thing, just incase the wire inside somehow hit a ground, the fuse would prevent a short. It was never meant to be replaced, just as a safeguard against the box melting someone's wiring harness.
Ever see the Samuel Jackson movie "Formula 51"? (If not, I'm going to spoil the whole movie below......)
The drug looks, tests, and appears to be the most wicked club drug ever, and all the people in the clubs who take it say it's incredible, etc. Then at the end, you find out that the drug is a placebo and does absolutely nothing. The DPS is the drug.
