350 Evo has a Polyurethane bushing kit for the Z.

Adrew Rubio's team claims that when these bushings were installed in thier car, it eliminated wheel hop.

Could tire pressure be a cause of some wheel hop?

Hello, can someone explain me what is exactly WHEEL HOP (i've been searching in the dictionary for traduction)

When i start hard from a dead stop (1st gear) there's a grinding sound / bad, loud vibration from the engine; and sometimes around 3rpm when it's raining a lot. Is that wheel hop? Thanks

Hmm, how about people with aftermarket LSD? I'm no expert on those stuff so I can't go into mechanical details but at least I heard that they do help when launching.. (biggest benefit should be better cornering exit.) Would aftermarket LSD help out eliminating wheel hop? Does any of you guys with Nismo, Kaaz, or Cusco LSD experience wheel hop launching hard at 1st?

The 300zx had the same problem and it was supposed to be fixed on the 350z according to some information I read. Sports Compact Car has a project 300zx (and a 350z), once they replaced the bushings with spherical bearings like the 350EVO ones all wheel hop went away. But the sperical bearings do transfer more road noise etc.

when you are spinning your wheels and your car shudders like your going over a 1000 tiny speed bumps....thats wheel hop

anyways, wheel hop has nothing to do with the motor...its all about traction and keeping the wheels to the ground

where exactly do these spherical bearings go???

also, those 350evo bearings don't look polyurathane to me....somebody mentioned earlier about a polyurathane bushing kit and i am wondering if this was what they meant instead

OH YEAH I DO. I am running 275/19, full tein coil-over (16 way adjustable w/ the edfc)... if the settings are at hard or soft I get massive wheel hop unless I am doing a 20 mph rolling start..

I was pulling out of a store this morning and got on it and it had some crazy wheel hop and all the sudden the *** end made a loud pop noise and I looked down and it had came out of first gear. The sound didn't come from the rear end itself it was more like the body of the car made the sound. I guess I didn't have it pushed all the way into 1st. Anyone ever had this happen...hope I didn't mess anything up.

350EVO doesn't make those spherical bearing kits anymore - they just haven't updated their site to reflect that. Actually a lot of their products they don't make anymore like their famous front control A-arms that had spherical bearings for smoother turning

They never made a polyurethane kit for production. They did offer a derlin bushing kit - that they used for racing and is supposivly brutal on the street.

The spherical bearing kit was 6 key bushings - think it was 2 up front and 1 in the rear. Expensive stuff

Nismo makes harder rubber bushings that are just barely noticably stiffer than stock.

solid engine mounts are your friends...so are solid diff mounts
