Default Nismo Synthetic Motor Oil

I was digging around the Japan Nismo site and came across this under the Z33 Engine upgrades....Veruspeed Engine Oil with Nismo's name on it and their colors and decals.

they offer it in all sorts of weights.....but they specifically list 5w40 under the Z33 engine upgrades. hrmmm. 100% ester oil. wonder if its any good. Anyone?

http://www.nismo.co.jp/products/oil/

hey, it was listed as an engine upgrade for the Fairlady Z.

Yes .. with my 1st oil change, I have used NISMO Oil .. that later became Veruspeed with a name change.

Some people use Mobil1 .. others have their favorite oil. I'm in Japan .. so there is no problem getting Veruspeed.

I like Veruspeed .. oil change every 2000 miles .. and Veruspeed oil filter change every 4000 miles.

Interesting that Nismo recommends synthetic, since Nissan recommends regular oil. I really wish I knew exactly *why* Nissan recommends regular oil in this car.

I agree with you .. I also don't understand. But changed to NISMO oil from the start that was later named Veruspeed.

5W-40 .. NA VQ35 Sports .. street and circuit .. what I use.
10W-60 .. GT-R racing oil .. for the RB26DETT engines
15W-50 .. Racing Spec .. (Ester Oil) for racing applications

Regarding the Sports Resetting .. please check the search for NISMO Sports Resetting where you will see my review. The ECM .. computer is only for JDM models due to the higher grade fuel used here.

Regarding the MOMO sports steering .. there are 2 models available as options at Nissan -- for Japan use only .. please check the search. My MOMO steering wheel is shown below .. smaller, thicker, air bagged, and a lot more friendly steering than stock ..

Hey, now that's a nice steering wheel, especially since it retains all the necessary equipment. Are you saying it's a *smaller* diameter than stock? Very nice. One thing that often bugs me in this car is the steering ratio. I would like it to be a tiny bit quicker. Did you notice this when you went to the smaller wheel? And would the wheel be Japan use only? Seems like it would just bolt up to left or right hand drive cars equally. (?)

It is smaller. Quicker .. that be the key. It is quicker. However, as has been posted before, the Z steering seems to be a tad slower that its input. Turn .. and the response is good but just a bit slower than what is turned. This review has been posted before -- that is why I am looking for a better suspension setup than the NISMO S-tune -- quicker turn-in .. if that is possible.
