Default recommendations - what mod next??

I was hoping to get a little help from some of you who have had you Z for a while as to what modification I should go with next.

I have an 05 base model Z to which I have added an Injen true dual exhaust and an AEM cai. I am now ready for the next mod and was wondering what would be the best one.

I had a Honda Civic Si before the Z so I'm not exactly sure what a plenum is or what it does or a grounding kit, etc....

Long term goal is F/I (TT) but would really like to get a good start to making a pretty quick car like alot of the other N/A cars on this forum.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Buddy

If money is an issue i would pass on getting bolt ons and just start saving for an FI system, but thats just me.

just what i was going to say. if you plan to go with f/i eventually, only get parts that will compliment the f/i setup.

get a plenum spacer (Motordyne Engineering) i got test pipes put on today and its working out really well.. the car pulls much harder and smoother... I am going to order the injen super ses soon and maybe do headers... I am going to do turbo later on but that will take time.. i am putting a lot of money into the motor and the kits is like 6000+... Change out all the fluids and go with royal purple or something.. I am sure it will help out the tranny a lot. I am going to put on some sticky drag radials I am not sure if you would consider that a mod. Maybe computer when you get the whole intake and exhaust.. not else much performance wise.. next is suspension.. maybe springs and sway bars.. i looked that the stock ones and they are pretty small. brakes.. wheels and tires... clutch and flywheel (jwt or tilton)if you really get into the motor like cams then its not worth it, i'd go ahead and order some pistons and rods and save up money for a motor build up... I am going to order another block and get it machined and just order the pistons rods and bearings.. just the main stuff that i need... then save up for the heads and computer stuff and turbo, half shafts, drive shaft...

Exactly. Since your plan is to go TT, just go ahead and save up the money for that. However, you can do a few cheap mods that will give u a nice gain, like Test Pipes, if they are legal in ur state, if not then High-Flow cats, and a UR Crank Pulley or UR Pulley set, and a plenum spacer.

Bio911, I would recommend that you don't get the headers... they aren't exactly that cheap (depening which one's u go with, I went with the Crawfords which costed over $1200), and the installation is a little pricey as well, and u cannot use them with a Turbo. It would probably be better to just get some other mods with that money instead. Headers do give a nice gain and are worth it, but they will just cost you money that u didn't need to spend... thats what I learned...

+1 for the plenum spacer. Cheaper than most parts too.

So on top of the intake and exhaust I already have I could do the plenum spacer and maybe a UR pulley to make for a decent N/A setup while I save for the turbo?

Appreciate the comments.
