Nismo Clutch + JWT flywheel
I tried to search for this setup and couldnt really find any reviews. Does anyone have this setup? If so what are your impressions and is there any problems is using these two brands together??
I've heard of people running the Nismo Flywheel with the JWT clutch and they said it runs just fine, but I haven't heard of anybody with the JWT Flywheel and Nismo Clutch... why not just go with the same brand for both?
jwt clutch has more holding power, like 1200 vs 1050 ft-lb. nismo fw lots heavier, 23 vs 14lb.
i've read the setup you describe is the most street-friendly in that you can slip it the most.

The lightest of the two is the JWT flywheel and Nismo clutch. But if you are going FI, then go JWT for both. Either way the engine will rev and drive better than stock. I have the JWT setup and love it. Very easy to drive, no noise and made it alot more fun to drive.

Close to 420 to the wheels...
Keeping in mind this is a clutch that is in good condition...
no matter the clutch, once it is worn, wont hold as much as in its prime..

Hey Jason - thanks for your help this weekend.
He got me this JWT flywheel + NISMO clutch set up this weekend, installed this past Saturday.
The throttle is MUCH more responsive and sensitive, but doesn't rev fast like a bike, or anything close to Jason's Tilton.
I have a 03 Track, and the clutch pedal force is now much lighter - easier to press down.
Engagement or catching "range" of the clutch is slightly smaller than stock, but this thing is still easy to drive/launch.
There is ZERO fear of stalling, even from a dead stop going up a hill. The clutch slips IDENTICAL to stock.
There is some "cement" sound at idle and under 2500rpm, but it's so subtle, and sounds rather cool.
As for performance, the car pulls harder through the redline and out of turns - the car is definately more nimble and faster. I'm happy with the performance characterstics, but for $1,350 installed, I'd recommend this upgrade only if you're in need of a new clutch or done with your all other suspension and other cheaper go-fast parts.
I've been torn between choosing the Tilton Full-Street and JWT+Nismo for a while, and came down to the following choice:
1. go for Tilton if you drive your Z like it's a Race car almost 100% of the time. Tilton's issue with sound (cement / squeal) are quite minor IMO, and seems exaggerated in the reviews. However, drivability from dead stop seems like a continuous challenge.
2. go for the JWT+Nismo if you want a "normal" car feel, but an improved response from your throttle. You will have a *slightly* quicker, civil Z - a ride that your girl will still appreciate, and your buddies could still drive.
