im not sure who makes the nismo anymore because the cusco has os giken stamped on it, nismo does not.

the true os giken unit though, its a wonderful piece of work, quieter and smoother then anything else.

anyways, youll be fine with a 2 way, daytona and i both daily drive ours with 2 ways, and if you get the cusco RS there wont be any noise.

what hatebobbarker says is true. i demonstrate no noise or cluncking at 80% lock and drive on a 2-way setting all day everyday.

always fun to see the look on peoples faces when they see your wheel chirping or spinning at least they dont look at me like my car is gonna fall apart, right bobbarker ?

Have you tried the lsd at different settings? I want to get a 2 way too, but i heard 80% is still a lot for street. I don't want to spin at every street light.

if you wanna drive it mostly for street, i would reccomend 60% lockup and 1.5way setting. i am pretty sure your aftermarket wheel sizes will be able to keep them from spinning alot on the street.

Thanks Daytona,

I might have to look into buying one of these, you guys all like the OS/Giken unit the best huh? Which one does KAAZ sell, they have a 2 way for 895. Wondering if that's good enough for me, i just want it for fun, no real racing.

if you drive the kaaz on the street, you will dislike every minute of it even at 60% locking. too much clunks, pops, and noise, even more than the nismo unit. at least, that was the impression i got when i drove.rode in a car with the kaaz. the kaaz is a very nice and very strong diff, but it is not as driveable as many of the other units. i believe sport compact car set their kaaz to about 30% lockup which kinda contradicts the point of having a lsd, but it illustrates the driveability issues of the kaaz.

if you do have the big bucks for it though, OS giken is the way to go. so many ways to set it up, its insane. i woulda bought it, but i just couldnt justify $1400 compared to the deal i got on my cusco unit. i believe hopupracing.com has a nice deal for the cusco rs unit for $929 w/free shipping.

if you want a street setup, i highly reccomend the cusco. in my mind: os giken>cusco>nismo=kaaz. i would suggest to you for your street driving and fun spirited driving this cusco unit at 60% at 1.5 way setting.

im not sure about the ats, but the thing I like about the OS is that its tuneable. You can set the delay of when the diff starrts coming. cso basically it takes the cusco tuning one step further while keeping streetability like the cusco. only thing is its like $500 more than the cusco unit.

but i dont think you would mind judging from your carhehe, you have all the things i want for my car in your sig there.

humm, say mid corner, the cusco unit will bite once you step on the gas, causing immediate lockup, while on the os giken, the delay will let you have a little more time before it completely locks up, thus giving a smoother and seemless action of the lsd. in other word, it wont lock up immediately like a conventional lsd, but you can basically tune the lsd to your liking, whether you want it on immediately or a little lag time so you can set yourself before you want the lsd to become active.

honestly, im not exactly sure. thats descriprtion was what my friend translated for me during class one day. i think the 350evo team uses the lsd for actual race purposes, i woul,d think they would be the ones to ask.
