Very excited that I found this thread. The clutch is unbearable for me (compared to other manuals I have driven), so hopefully I can get this started on mine.

i believe there was a guy here on the forum that made a kit to make your clutch pedal with lower engagement point. forgot the name of his kit. Unlike turning the **** behind your clutch for risking engagement all the time . This kit actually required you to take out ur clutch pedal and mount it on the kit. i got order mine and man it makes a big difference. you still get your clutch pedal travel distance like oem, but you get a lower engagement too. you barely lift your foot of clutch and car already engage. the kit will also work if you have cruise control too. it has mounting bracket for cruise control button.

Just did this adjustment and man is it awesome! I no longer feel like I'm driving a semi-truck. I adjusted it to be about even with the brake pedal and love it.

Adjusted mine today. Did 3 turns. I like it. Definitely a much more responsive clutch.

Ha long time between comments... Just bought my first 350.... Been a maxima driver and fan for years and was about to pull the trigger on a 15 Nizmo but decided for a 3rd car it was a bit pricey.... The Nissan guy called me and said you have got to come look at the 08 350Z that just got traded 12k original 1 owner car! Needless to say I bought it and went to pick it up and stalled it 3 times on the way home this thread is AWESOME I made the mod this AM and it's a totally different car... Thanks from a old fart checking off my when I'm 50 bucket list ✌️

Attempted this today and gave up. Even removing the dead pedal there was little to no room to work with. Just an FYI, the dead pedal does not just pop out, you need to unscrew the 5 screws ontop and remove the aluminum plate first, then turn the two screws underneath. Almost broke mine cause I thought it just "popped out" like OP said

I performed this adjustment today and it makes a huge difference! My only regret is that I didn't come across this thread sooner. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the helpful info!

super old thread but wanted to chime in and say thanks to everyone that contributed. I finally got around to changing the clutch slave and master. When i replaced the clutch master i tried getting the travel the same as stock but went a mm or so too long and the engagement was higher than what it was before. I turned the pushrod so as to screw into the clevis (shorten it up) and went way too short the first time leaving me with a sticky pedal. adjusted a few more times to get it where I wanted.
Better to make small adjustments at first.

now i can burn out from first to second without grinding second gear, the 350z clutch master cylinder is prone to getting dirty and failing.

in reference to the dead pedal, it does just pop off, no need to unscrew the plate.
