watch as his front heavy; front wheel drive biased STI understeers into the cones.

The STi is "front heavy" with a 58%-42% front-to-rear distribution. It's even FF biased as it primarily uses a 60/40 split. But I'd love to see one understeer just once.
Quit reading Super Street.

I believe you should get just about all the N/A mods you want to get before reflashing. For 04/05 350z's they use preset ecu programs to match closest to whatever mods you have, plus they can custom tune if they are not satisfied of the results.

The STi is no slouch - even with the "weaknesses" you mentioned. I wouldn't want to find one in my rear view on a twisty road. Well actually, it would probably make for some great motoring, but you know what I mean.

The driving experience wasn't as rewarding to me as the Z. The Z is a more connected drive...more fun to explore it's limits.

Sure, if the rods were being spun to 9 grand, and you actually could make power there, you might be concerned about their well-being...but the fact is, you'd need some major work up top to even accomplish that much.

The STi can vary torque split between 50%f/50%r and 35%f/65%r. It is not possible for the center diff to allow 60 percent of the available torque to be transmitted to the front tires.
I am about to trade in my STi for a 350 or a G, but not because I think they are faster.
I wouldn't listen to your friend, its not hard to beat a sti, i did it with an intake and exhaust, even stock go from a 1st gear roll at around 20 mph and you will have a good chance! If you want to MURDER an sti look at my mod list!!!
My theory on the whole thing is this, sure you can waste your money to try and "prove" that you are faster than an STI, but really, is like booing at the special olympics... pointless. Either way, win or lose, YOU ARE THE ONE GOING HOME WITH THE Z and he/she will always have an ugly car.

well i have raced many sti's on the hw and this weekend (i live in colorado) we were racing up a huge pass. I raced from about 60 to 135 i got about 10 cars on him 3 times. the guy was sooper cool and said i was the first guy to ever pull on him that bad. my car as a popcharger. from a dig youll lose from a roll youll win if you can drive.
Dont spend $3K on bolt-ons for this car. I think they are a waste of money for the results you get. Take the $3k and add about $3-4k more and get a Vortech or spend a little more and get a S or TT setup.
