Default Cams with rev-up motor

Does anyone know if anyone has cams out that will work with the new rev-up motor. I was having some JWt's installed in my motor and we found out that they wont work b/c of the variable cam timeing system.

They will not work on the rev-up motor because the exhaust cam is not made to work with the exhaust cam timing. No one at the moment that I know of makes cams for the rev-up motor. You might be able to get a custom ground set, but you would need to find out the factory rev-up cam profiles and I have searched high and low and still can't find them.

I havent looked for them yet, i have the 2005 service manual so maybe it has them, ill check when i get home. I was thinking a cam company would be able to figure out the profiles if i provide them with the factory ones and go from there.

I had orginaly planned on pulling the JWT's when i found that the stock rev-up cams were close to them and go with something more aggressive, but now nothing will work but the stock cams and i just found out that the blanks are not available yet either so no one can make a custom ground set either.

There is no pins sticking out of the exhaust cams to work with the Variable Exhaust Timing...

However... Those with a 287 motor withOUT exhaust timing, you can grind these off and use the cams on the 287 motor! Less expensive cam option (and since its factory parts you can use in T2 racing)

unfortunatly there are no cam blanks yet for the exhaust cams with exhaust timing :-/

so what about a full head swap? im sure he could find heads for $500 used or swap with some one with a non rev motor but how would a non rev motor act with the full intact head of the rev up? <sorry for rambling>

if you change the heads...

you will:

Loose the exhaust cam timing:
Have to change your Frotn Cover:
Have to change your pistons since the deck of the 287 heads is different:
Have to do everything that is required to change the pistons (rebuild whole motor basicly)

i suppose that would work...

would have to match the ends side by side with your new cams and the ones that were in the car stock....

These cams have an aggressive enough grind, and with the variable intake and exhaust timing, timing can be adjusted to even more extreems with this set up... im not sure i would jump so far to change cams on this motor just yet... I would mess more with the cam timing first...

Messing with the cam timing is nice idea, but b/c of what it costs to install cams later is making me reconsider. Does anyone know the lift/duration/etc. of the stock rev-up motor cams?
