I'm shocked.

There was so much anticipation over this piece, for which we waited a year or so. All the buzz this piece got when it was finally released, albeit with fitment issues on some cars (mine included), was unbelievable. I have not seen one comment about the Quaife ATB differential since.

I have the Quaife ATB unit with the fitment kit on my 2003 5AT G35 Sedan. It replaced my OEM differential. This is the second Quaife ATB diff I have used, the first being on my now-demised '95 5MT Maxima SE. The one I have now reminds me how much I liked the first one. With the onset of winter here in Memphis, I am sure I will come to appreciate this unit more and more everyday.

My G35S is my only car, a daily driver. I enjoy the benefits of having the Quaife on my car every time I drive. I'm no boy-racer [any more], but I do enjoy a sure-footed, good-handling, quick-stopping car. My car is all that.

The Quaife is silent and seamless. It inspires confidence, especially on fast starts and tight curves. When I upgraded my wheels and tires, I noted an instant improvement in performance. With the installation of my new Quaife, performance was once again redefined and taken to a higher level. This unit was a bit pricey, but I am a strong believer in the old saying: Go the extra nickel, and go first-class.

Lastly, I rarely give a plug, but here I'll make an exception: Sharif at Forged-Internals sold me the Quaife for my G. I'm glad I bought it where I did, folks. Sharif helped me a lot.

Who else has the Quaife out there? Anyone enjoying it as much as I am?

Yes, i agree it has been quiet. I've been especially waiting for somebody to try/confirm that the quaife will work with the evo 3.9 gears. Anybody done this yet? I can't see why it wouldn't work, but it's always nice to have confirmation.

Mine is still nothing but an expensive paper weight. Still in the process of setting an appointment to get it installed. Glad to hear it's working out so nicely for you.

I think you and I got our Quaifes at about the same time, right? Did you forget you have it!

My local Infiniti dealership installed mine. With the fitment kit, it was a perfect fit. According to them, the installation was straightforward.

I notice the benefits of this piece everytime I drive. The traffic situation here in Memphis -- yahoos, bad roads, and endless road construction -- makes you *need* to drive "assertively" upon occasion. The Quaife ATB diff allows me to do that without drama. I'm OK with quiet victories, if you know what I mean.

Get that thing installed, now. You'll be glad you did. Take care.

 

Tell me about it! It's been almost six months since I bought the damn thing! It's all good though. Have a rescheduled appointment to install on Jan 3rd at Z-Car Garage. This time it's going to happen, I swear.

Absolutely love mine. Eliminated wheel hop completely on the drag strip. Considering that I went from the base/open diff to this, it's an easy win, but I can't imagine a better performing LSD. Now when I punch it in 3rd, I don't worry about getting sideways at all, the car straightens itself out immediately before I can even react.

So they finally resolved the issues? I ended up going with the ATS LSD because everyone was having install problems with the Quaife.

 

Yeah, looks like the problem has been solved with the spacer and the longer bolts.

 

Jeff and Darren, glad you are both enjoying your Quiafe differentials. Its been a long time coming, and now that the fitment issue has been resolved with the spacer/bolt package, people should feel confident that the product works.

Darren, you are the first, I think...to take it out to the 1/4 mile track, and glad to hear it performed well for you.

We are going to be running a Holiday Special on the Quaife Differential. As part of the special, the spacer kit wil be provided at no charge to those that need it. The spacer/bolt kits are normally $100 (although they were provided for free to the first group that bought diffs from FI.com...due to the unforseen fitment issues). I am finalizing the pricing right now, but its going to be good. We have 9 diffs in stock!!
