Default Squeaking clutch... - URGENT

Sorry that I post it here, but I have dealership appointment tomorrow at 10AM.

I have THIS annoying clutch squeaks - when I release fully depressed clutch. The noise is comming from my engine compartment and it sounds like you open old door or sth.

I have been at the dealership like 5 times with this $hit - and last time they changed my clutch pedal assembly. That, however, didnt help - cause the noise is not in the inside of the car.

Facts:
- the noise is comming from engine compartment
- it is not there all the time, mostly when it rains
- the car can be on/off - does not matter
- it makes my Z sound like POS car
- I guess it all started after I washed my car at the car wash... maybe a coincidence - but maybe some soap/wax got on some hose or sth.

Do you have any ideas??

I have found out that lubricating the rubber bushings should help? Any opinions on that one?

I would really appreciate your comments - since that clutch thing is killing me..

I've the same noise as you. And it's not all the time, which is the most annoying thing.

I just came from the dealership. thay said that the noise is comming from the clutch - so they have to remove it and check it. two techs have verified this.

they have to call nissan and get the approval so this can be done under warranty. hopefuly this will stop this noise...

I thought my clutch was sqeaking... until I figured out that it was actually coming from my seat right under my left knee. Every time I pushed down the clutch it squeaked.

I have the same issue - squeaky clutch and also very hard/uneven sometimes.

Since I am pretty new to driving mt I thought it was just me destroying my car(and i died a little bit inside each time but smile that I've finally made the plunge).

While I was changing my oil with a friend he took her for a spin - also commented that my clutch was extremely stiff and sometimes squeaks/rattled/made annoying noise especially in 1st, 2nd and in neutral!

If we can nail down what the hell this is it would make me sleep better at night.

Do all of you guys have '06s? Because my '06 has it too. Seems to happen mostly when it's cold outside, and mine sounds like it's the clutch pedal squeaking. Pretty strange. It's been in the 80s all week and it hasn't happened, but it's supposed to be cold this weekend, so we'll see if it happens again. My '05 and my husband's '03 never squeaked.

I guess there are 2 different squeaks that people have:
- the clutch pedal assembly =>inside your car
- sth with the clutch => in the engine compartment

I have '04 with 10k miles and the squeaks are mostly when cold and rainy. The noise comes from the outside (engine compartment).

Some people have the squeaks inside the car - then I would talk with your advisor so they can lube (or change) the clutch pedal assembly.

I will keep you updated on my car - they will be doing this tomorrow.

My 2003 Z has had these squeaky clutch pedal noises coming from outside the cabin for 2 years....squeaks and groans when I pedal the clutch in and out...and I also feel stiffness in the pedal. The dealer has lubricated the clutch mechanisms several times and the symptoms always return in a couple months. Good luck getting it fixed. I am returning to the dealer for this and a host of other problems next week. Good Luck!

My drivers seat creaks and groans and "clicks" every time I drive anywhere...Had it "fixed" numerous times. Everytime they "fix" the drivers seat it takes on a new persona with different but equally annoying behavior.

Have fun and be happy.

Sounds like the clutch master cylinder is shot. I had the same symptoms. I switched out the clutch master and it stopped. $79 from the dealer for the part, and about 1 hour labor to install.

I guess clutch master cylinder is at the top of the engine.. and my noise is comming from the lower part... so it will be not this.

thanks.

You wouldn't be able to pinpoint the sound that easily. From on top of the car the clutch master cylinder squeaking would still sound like it came from underneath. My vote goes for the clutch master cylinder.

Some people just account for everyonbe being idiots here. It's the clutch master. When you figure that out for yourself let me know.

They finally fixed my baby - after 8 days

from the invoice:

"the throw out bearing making the noise, and the pressure plate stiff - pedal was also stiff and creaking prior to repair"

They changed:
- new clutch
- new plate
- new bearing
